Last night the Ottawa Senators took on the fifth place Boston Bruins at their home in Scotiabank Place.
The Bruins came out looking strong and got an early goal after a penalty kill courtesy of Shawn Thornton, who got his first goal of the campaign off of a bad turnover by Backstrom.
"It was terrible and I threw up in my mouth when I saw the puck go into the net," said after the game.
Boston kept taking penalties, though, and Kokalev got the score to 2-1 before the first period ended, putting the Senators in the lead going into the intermission.
The Senators came out dominating in the second, and that caused another Boston penalty. The first forward line kept cycling puck during the powerplay, and eventually it got to Spezza in the slot, who sniped it past Thomas to get the 2 goal lead.
Boston came out hard in the third period and dominated Ottawa, but they couldn't get anything past Backstrom as he stopped them all. Boston eventually pulled the goalie in desperation, but it didn't work as Heatley got his 21st goal of the season, sealing the deal for the Ottawa Senators.
And honestly, most of those losses are from games that I simmed. I've actually only lost like 3 in game.
But for a little bit I'm not gonna do write ups after the games. My sleeping habits have gone haywire and I'm too tired to do them. I'll prob get to the playoffs by Wednesday at the latest if I keep playing the way I am. I'm just too excited, I wanna get some new free agents. I'll probably be releasing a few people to free agency because they've been pretty useless to me this season. I have to improve my bottom three lines. The only players that are really producing for me on offence are Alfredsson, Heatley, Spezza and Kovalev. Spezza has been doing really good
