Tim McGraw Buys Nashville Predators, Names New GM

August 31st, 2010--Legendary Country singer, Tim McGraw has officially bought the Nashville Predators from Predators Holding LLC. The deal went through late last night when NHL.com caught wind of the story. Mr. McGraw has already handed the GM reigns to unknown ex-hockey player Nicholas Ritt. Ritt, who spent 4 years in the DEL league playing for Krefield Pinguines, was known in Germany to be a balls-to the walls, play like there is no tomorrow type of player and Tim McGraw hopes his playing style will match his GMing style. The Predators don't have that "star" player like the "Cup Contending" teams have but that doesn't stop them from being a playoff team the past 2 years. Led by David Legwand and Shea Weber, the Predators are one of the youngest teams in the NHL.

Predators Preseason Report

The rookies that Nashville called up for the preseason made GM Nick Ritt's job difficult. Cal O'Reilly was the plesant surprise scoring 4 goals in the 4 Preseason games. As were Ryan Ellis and Jonathan Blum who up 3 and 2 points respectively. Not to be outdone, Chet Pickard went 1-1, with his only loss to Detroit. Mr Ritt has some tough decisions ahead of him on who to keep on the Predators. GM Nick Ritt did make one trade so far, sending Ryan Parent to Calgary for Cory Sarich. This move was to help strengthen the Predators Blueline with some muscle.

Predators Make Deal With Flyers, Giroux a Predator

October 4th, 2010--GM Nick Ritt made his first Blockbuster deal of the Season by sending his 2011 1st Round Pick and NJ's 2011 2nd Round Pick to the Philadelphia Flyers for future superstar Claude Giroux. Giroux was reported to have unhappy with how Peter Laviolette was using him asked for a trade from the Flyers organization. "The way I played in the playoffs should have sent a message to Peter that I'm a Top 6 Forward, not to be stuck on the third line like I am." Fans in Philly agree with Giroux's opinion.



Tried to make a realistic trade, or at least come up with a story that's believeable. Thanks EA for not putting a "Team Agrees with trade, do you wish to continue" type of thing. Apparently Philly called no trade backs :P

Rinne Stones Defending Champs As Pred Win
CHICAGO,IL--The whole Predators team should buy Pekka Rinne dinner after last night's impressive 29 Save performance. Facing the Defending Stanley Cup Champs on their home ice is a challenge for most, but when your keeper stops 29 shots and your 4th Line chips in two quick goals you have yourselves an upset. Jared Smithson and Joel Ward scored 11 Seconds apart in the third period. Ward scored after a Jared Smithson dump in confused Christobal Huet and Chicago Defenseman Jordan Hendry leaving the puck sititng in the crease for an easy tap in. Off the ensuing faceoff, Smithson put the puck through Darve Bolland's legs and fired a slapshot through Hjalmarsson legs. The Predators were undisiplined and it almost cost them as the Hawks had 7 Powerplays including a full 2 minute 5-on-3. Defenseman Kevin Klein injured himself late in the 3rd when he missed a hit. Looks to be a sprained wrist that will keep him out of action for 1-2 Weeks. Aaron Johnson is being called up.

Rinne Continues Hot Streak, Blues Fall Prey to Predators
NASHVILLE,TN--Pekka Rinne continues to be a stone wall, stopping 33 of 34 shots as the Predators continue on their 3 game win streak. Giroux continues to lead the Predators as he scored his 4th Goal moments after the Predators PP expired. The Predators' Defense continue to chip goals in with Francis Bouillon and Shea Weber netting their first goals of the season.

Can Rinne Be Beat? Caps Fall Victim to Hot Rinne
Nashville,TN--What has gotten into Pekka Rinne, the man is playing possessed. Despite being outshot 40-14 the Nashville Predators managed to pull off an incredible 3-1 Victory in Nashville. Alex Ovechkin, Nick Backstrom and the rest of the high powered Capital offense could only look to the sky as Pekka Rinne and his Posts stopped shot after shot. At least 4 shots hit the post and one was an INCH from the goaline before Rinne turned around and covered it. Sergei Kostitsyn opened up the scoring 1:00 in when his backhander found room under Varlamov's arm. Giroux scored his 5th of the year after stealing the puck from Tom Poti and sneaking a backhander near the far post. Finally David Legwand's pass hit off Poti's skate and in. It took till 19:39 in when the Capitals finally solved Pekka. Predators play Calgary on Oct 19th.

Iginla Gives Predators 1st Loss of Season
Nashville,TN--The offense isn't putting enough pressure on goaltenders yet found ways to win. Their luck ran out when Miika Kiprusoff and the Calgary Flames came to town. Kipper shut down Claude Giroux and the rest of the Predators. Only Jarred Smithson could solve Kipprusoff. The Penguins come to town next on the 21st
