(Note: I am starting with the predraft rosters so I will be doing the draft a little differently.)
Bruins top consistent players last season by Barney Green
(Boston A.P.) The Bruins had a rough season by just barely making the playoffs. The collapse in the 2nd round of the playoffs still lingering in the heads of the Bruins and many fans, They have to make a change and get a few goal scorers. Lets take a look at the most consistent players.
Mark Recchi, don't let age fool you. He can still score points and goals despite entering next year as the oldest active player and holding records in many categories. If anything, the Bruins should resign him to help train either Taylor Hall or Tyler Seguin. He played 81 games and pulled out 43 points.
Patrice Bergeron, If anyone should be captain, it should be him. The hardest working Bruin that played in 73 games and scored 52 points. One of the best centres this team has along with Savard.
David Krejci, 79 games and 52 points. Perhaps one of the better players that the Bruins have that plays well under pressure. He needs to step up and prove himself.
Zdeno Chara, The Bruins Captain and Norris Trophy winner. If he wants to stay Captain, he needs to speak up more and call out the team like Recchi did when the Bruins went into the slump during the winter season until the Olympics. He played 80 games and scored 44 points.
Tuukka Rask, 45 games played and 22 won. This guy was the reason the Bruins made it to the playoffs with his goaltending ability. At such a young age, he could become a future Vezina trophy winner. The rookie that replaced Tim Thomas, who went into a slump during the season and never recovered.
If anything, the Bruins need to get a few more goal scorers. The defense is great and the goaltending is good. They just need to get people that can score points.
