(Los Angeles, CA) -- Tyler Beskorowany made his second appearance of the season tonight as he started against the Los Angeles Kings but it was short lived as he allowed four goals in the first period and wouldn't return for the remainder of the game as the Kings dismantled the Dallas Stars with an 8-1 victory.
Beskorowany allowed three goals within the first 10 minutes of the game, which didn't sit well with head coach Marc Crawford, who was once behind the bench in Los Angeles.
"It was a bad game overall for us. Tyler did all that he could but we can't let a team completely control the tempo and how we play our game, if we keep this going we might as well not even be on the ice."
Dustin Brown scored a minute into the game after receiving the puck right in front of goal after a bad clearing attempt by defenseman Trevor Daley who was being held behind the net by Anze Kopitar.
Brown took the puck and snapped it past Beskorowany for his sixth goal of the season, giving the Kings a 1-0 lead.
Ryan Smyth scored his third of the season at 5:13 with Anze Kopitar and Willie Mitchell earning the assists. Enforcer Matt Greene also added a goal, with his second coming at 7:18 from a pass by Jarret Stoll at the top of the left circle, winding up and shooting it past the young goaltender.
Dallas got a powerplay chance late in the first period after Michal Handzus was called on a hooking penalty, sending him to the box for two minutes.
But it was Los Angeles who took advantage as Rich Clune scored for the Kings on a shorthanded play for his first goal of the season, after jumping on a rebound after a shot taken by Matt Greene.
Beskorowany continued to play for the remainder of the first period but would not return for the second as Kari Lehtonen was set to start for the rest of the game.
The new goaltender seemed to fire up the Stars as they finally put a goal on the scoreboard as Brendan Morrow scored early at 2:11 for a 4-1 score, somewhat giving a chance to the Stars to mount what would seem a miraculous comeback.
With two seconds left on the clock, Kings defenseman Willie Mitchell was pulled down on a breakaway and given a penalty shot, which he would score on for a 5-1 lead to Los Angeles to end the second period.
Los Angeles scored three more goals in the third period with the first coming from Trevor Lewis for his second goal of the season at 2:21 with his fourth line teammates Brad Richardson and Rich Clune earning the assist, it was also Clune's second point of the night.
Clune would also earn himself a coveted "Gordie Howe hat-trick" as he was involved in a fight five minutes into the third period with Mark Fistric. Clune made his way to the locker room instead of the penalty box as he held his hand and would not return to the game due to injury.
About a minute later, Scott Parse added goal number seven for the Kings at 6:09 with Michal Handzus earned the lone assist on the goal.
Previous goal scoreres Dustin Brown and Ryan Smyth earned their second points of the game as they assisted on Anze Kopitar's goal at 15:23 to give the Kings a very comfortable 8-1 lead and the victory over the Dallas Stars.
Both Tyler Beskorowany and Kari Lehtonen allowed four goals each during the game from 28 shots taken by the Kings.
Jonathan Quick, who didn't have much to do tonight made 15 saves during the night from 16 shots taken by the Stars, allowing only one goal.
