The Jets Return! NHL 11 Winnipeg Jets Dynasty

Hey all!

My dynasty got screwed up and somehow deleted on my x-box 360 hard drive, so I had to start over.

Winnipeg Jets Announce Roster for Upcoming 2010/2011 Season

This morning the Winnipeg Jets announced their roster for the upcoming season:

The Jets were allowed to keep only three players from the now defunct Columbus Blue Jackets. GM Matthew Zator chose to keep star forward Rick Nash, speedy defenseman Kris Russell and goaltender Steve Mason. "These three players give our organization a solid foundation and hopefully a good nucleus to build around. In the next few days we will assess the rest of the league and the players available to us to build the rest of our roster." said GM Matthew Zator.

The remaining Blue Jackets will be entered into a dispersion draft and every NHL team will be allowed to have a pick in the draft. The draft was held earlier today. Because of their standing in the NHL last season, the Edmonton Oilers were able to pick first. Here are the results:

EDM - Jakub Voracek
TOR - Derrick Brassard
FLA - Antoine Vermette
NYI - RJ Umberger
TB - declined pick
CAR - Sami Pahlsson
ATL - Kristian Huselius
MIN - Rostislav Klesla
NYR - Jan Hejda
DAL - Fedor Tyutin
ANA - Marc Methot
PHX - Chris Clark
STL - Ethan Moreau
LA - declined pick
COL - Anton Stralman
NSH - Derek Dorsett
PIT - declined pick
DET - declined pick
MTL - declined pick
NYI - Mathieu Garon

Derek McKenzie and Andrew Murray were released into free agency as they were not chosen by any team.

Steve Mason Suffers Injury - Out Three Weeks

Just ahead of the Jets inaugural season opener, starting net minder Steve Mason suffered a bruised hip and will be out at least three weeks. The injury occurred in the Jets final pre-season game. "It's frustrating, but it is what it is. I just got to rest it and hopefully be back in less then three weeks." Mason said.

In the mean time, Ray Emery will take over the starting job with veteran Dan Cloutier as his back up. "It's unfortunate for Steve, but I will do my best to start the season well and lead this team to a few wins to start this historic season. It's been a tough few months for me physically and mentally, but I can finally say that I feel 100%" Emery said.

The Jets begin their season with a home at home against the San Jose Sharks on Friday.
