Nashville Predators (NHL 11)

Nashville Predators Dynasty

Decided to go with the Predators as they are a team that I have never used and really need some help. I will be looking to bring in youth and move the older players. I am using a custom slider set, and planning on playing every game of the season. This is a team with some talent, but not much of a long term future. I am willing to move the older players for less talent but more potential.

For any readers I am looking for suggestions as far as personnel and trades go. I want to move the older players and bring in younger guys. Feel free to comment your suggestions.

Re: Nashville Predators (NHL 11)

Game #1 Home vs Anaheim

- Patric Hornqvist and Pekka Rinne guide the Predators to a win in their first game of the season. Rinne Stopped 30 of 32 shots, and Hornqvist scored a hat trick and took home the first star of the game award. It was a sloppy game with penalties on both sides. Anaheim took a 1-0 on a 5-3 PP after both Weber and Suter went to the box with minor penalties. The Predators answered back behind two Hornqvist goals and a third goal added by Joel Ward. On a PP in the second period the Ducks cut the lead to 3-2 after a Lupul PP goal. Hornqvist bumped the lead to 4-2 where it would end with his third goal of the game in the third period. Up next for the Predators a road test in Chicago.

And just like that, we are underway!

Nice job with Hornqvist getting the hatty in the first game of the season.

Re: Nashville Predators (NHL 11)

Hornqvist sealed the deal with his third coming out of the box with fresh legs for an easy one timer far post.

Game #2 Away vs Chicago

- The Nashville Predators showed no life in their first road game of the season. After a solid offensive performance against Anaheim the Predators could not generate anything against the defending champs. With only 17 shots and 36 against the Predator fans have to be wondering what happened from the first game to the second. A big factor in this game was the game misconduct handed to Shea Weber for checking from behind 9 minutes into the first period. After the captain was ejected the team looked completely lost. After giving up 4 goals on 30 shots against Pekka Rinne was pulled. Anders Linbdback came in and saved all 6 shots against him. If the Predators want to make the playoffs they will have to find a way to generate offense and get the puck out of their defensive zone. Anders Lindback is expected to get the start tomorrow at home against the Blues.

When asked about the performance after the game, the Predators GM commented, "I like our physicality, but we need to pull it back enough to solidify our defense. We can't keep taking bad penalties and coming out of position just to throw a hit. I am confident in our team, but we need to find some consistency."

Game #3 Home vs St. Louis

- The Predators responded in a big way a day after a 4-0 loss to the Blackhawks. After giving up the first goal of the game, the Predators came out firing in the second and third periods for a total of 8 goals. They also scored their first two powerplay goals of the season. Anders Lindback earned his first NHL win in a game where his team carried the load for him. Up next for the Predators is a home game against an always dangerous Washington Capitals team. Rinne is expected back in net for the Predators.
