Trade rumors starting to pop up
Whispers say the Kings are aiming high

December 28, 2010

PHOENIX, AZ - As the Kings arrive in Phoenix to take on their division rivals the Coyotes tomorrow night, speculation is beginning to swirl that Los Angeles general manager Dean Lombardi is actively on the prowl across the league, allegedly searching for a top six forward and/or a top four defenseman.

Nothing concrete has emerged from the rumors yet, and Lombardi sidestepped the question when asked by the media Tuesday.

"We're always looking around and listening," the GM said. "We wouldn't be doing our jobs if we weren't constantly searching for ways to improve our team. Does that mean we've got a player, or even a team, in mind? Absolutely not. Idle rumors that pop up out of nowhere aren't productive, and I can guarantee you we have not established solid trade negotiations with any other organization at this time."
