Securing a 3rd line appointment, not to shabby.

Thank you. I hope you continue to follow. It has been a roller coaster so far, a lot of ups and downs.

Yeah man I don't know how long I'll be there though. I get destroyed often being so small, it can be very challenging to find space and time when you know if anyone gets close to you, you will be on the ice very quickly. I plan on working my acceleration and speed first for athletics just so I can gain some separation.

Thanks dom. My line mates forever frustrate me though. Poor passers to say the least, but I will admit it is nice having Armstrong there to make space for me. I find it really annoying how the coach puts me out on the ice so much. I understand the reasoning behind it, but it's not very realistic.

Thanks to everyone who reads this. I won't be able to post an update for every game inplay but I will try to do all the ones I can. I will do 10 game updates for team stats and standings and for league stats etc...

Keep this going...should be an interesting read as you grow with a rebuilding Leafs team.

Game 2 VS Ottawa

Pre game interview with head coach Ron Wilson:
"We need to wake up. We played sloppy in the pre season, bad passing porous defense, A power play that won't be described as anything near "powerful" a penalty kill that killed our goalies confidence and a group of centers that cant buy a face off, never mind win one. We need guys to get out there and do the little intangable things, we need short support passing and hard skating, forechekcing and back checking. Once that starts to happen our skill guys can take over and everything will fall into line, our sad outing in Montreal for the season opener left us with a bitter taste in our mouth, there is no doubt of that, I hope the guys take the lesson for what it was, and improve on it in the game tonight"

Well guys, some harsh words form the coach there, and only after one game. It seems the team will be on a short leash and expectations are high. Lets not forget poor starts can sink a team Earlie. Every point counts in the NHL of today.

Team news:
Some how I missed this, but D Luke Schenn was injured in the pre season and will be out for another two weeks.

Steve Pattenden will don the number 82, since Schenn wears his favored #2

Brunnstrom makes a beautiful no look pass

"Hey give credit where credit is due. Sure I slammed it into the net here but I was so shocked the puck came out to me that I was hardly ready for it, fantastic work by Fabian to get it out of there"

Nice tip in from point shot on power play

"after winning the draw we all fell into our set play, and it went across to the right D man, when I seen his stick go up I put myself just off center of the puck and waited for the shot, I managed to smack it down to the ice and the rest can be seen on the replay"

Pattenden snapping home his first NHL shootout goal, and a winner to boot!

"It was a lot of pressure, Spezza rang one off the post, then kessel undressed anderson on a nice move, Svatos had no answer for Giguere and that left it to me, if I put this in, we win. Phil grabbed me before I went out and the only thing he said was, "skate it fast". In I roared at top speed made a quick juke and in it went"

Pattenden's game stats:
2 goals 2 points 1 power play goal 8 shots 2 hits 36:20 TOI

Milestones:
First point - took two games
First goal - took two games
I am now offciially a rookie
