10-GAME UPDATE
The Flames' defense has appeared significantly more porous through the last five games, as they've been outscored 20-15 while going (2-2-1). Somehow the Flames have squeaked into the top spot in the west despite this pedestrian record, but it's largely a scheduling quirk as they've played the most games of anyone in the top 8.
The top line continues to impress, and it continues to be Derek Roy who's scoring the goals, now bumping his team-leading total to 7. Jarome Iginla continues to be snake-bitten but has managed to pile up assists, now with 10.
The goaltending stats are a bit misleading, as both Kiprusoff and Irving have been stellar, but have been left on an island on several occasions. Most notable was the Flames 5-4 loss to New York. The Flames allowed numerous Rangers to sneak into the slot uncovered and fire away one-timers, and they paid the price.
The Flames hope to return to their strong defensive ways as they continue this road swing in Buffalo.
