Re: Detroit Redwings BEaGM (a re-start)

Wings even series at 2

Game 4 was a battle of the goalies. Howard and Halak were outstanding all game. the Wings would get the eventually game winner from Filppula halfway thru the 2nd period. Pavel Datsyuk would get a empty netter to seal the win late in the game.

Injury Update: No new injuries. Patrick Eaves played in this game.

Line changes: Coach Alcide put Zetterberg together with Datsyuk and Jurco. Moved Filppula to center with Tatar and Nyquist. While Franzen was dropped to the 3rd line.

Slumping Star: Johan Franzen scored 36 goals during the regular season but so far in the 1st 4 games he has exactly 1pt and assist in game 4. Franzen was put on the 3rd line by the coach Alcide for game 4 and it did seem to spark Franzen. He played more like a power forward and had a few good chances.

Game 5 back in Detroit.

Re: Detroit Redwings BEaGM (a re-start)

Jurco, Tatar knock Blues out

Game News:

Rookies Tomas Jurco, Tomas Tatar and goalie Jimmy Howard would lead the Wings to a playoff series win over St. Louis on the Blues home ice.

Wings found themselves down against going into the 3rd period. Blue's Alexander Steen scored 5mins into the 2nd too give the Blues a 1-0 lead. Blues fans were thinking of a game 7, especially with the way Halak has been playing this whole series.

This time the Wings didnt waste any time 24secs into the 3rd Jurco would score to tie the game at 1. Both teams exchanged chances throughout the 3rd period but both goalies stood tall for their teams.

Late in the 3rd Filppula would strip the blues dman in front of his own net lifting the stick and taking the puck. Filppula would turn and find Tatar farside for the series and the series winner.

Wings now move on into the 2nd round.
