Detroit Vipers vs Carolina Hurricanes

VIPERS DROP TOUGH ONE IN CAROLINA 2 - 1

Detroitnews.com - November 2nd, 2012 - By Vic Venom

Raleigh, NC - Eric Staal scored the game winning goal at the 4:51 mark of the third period to give the Hurricanes a 2 - 1 win over the Detroit Vipers on the road tonight.

Carolina opened the scoring in the first period when Bobby Sanguinetti scored his first of the season at 14:07 of the first period to give Carolina a 1 - 0 lead after the first period.

Detroit rebounded like they seem to have done all season long so far with a power play goal when Matt Moulson scored his forth of the season from Boyes and Barker to tie the game up at 1 - 1 heading into the third period.

Carolina though took little time in the third to regain the lead when Eric Staal scored his third of the season from McBain and Jokinen to give Carolina a 2 - 1 lead early in the third and hold on to win by that score.

Detroit is back home tomorrow night at the Palace of Auburn Hills to face off with the Dallas Stars.

Re: Welcome To The Snake Pit!!

Alright boys, Quick update for ya. I am going to go back to reporting by the month instead of game by game during the season. Make the flow of the franchise go quicker. I will still handle day to day operations of the team and if I do make a trade for someone or have a major injury I will report on it before the monthly recap. I did this when the Viper franchise 2 years ago and played out full seasons so I am going back to what works for me.

I still will be playing the playoff games and preseason game just doing game by game sim and not real time sim.

VIPERS, RANGERS INVOLVED IN TRADE AGAIN

detroitnews.com - November 22nd, 2012 - By Vic Venom

Auburn Hills, Mi - The Detroit Vipers and New York Rangers have made another trade that may feel the Vipers have come out on top for in the long run.

The Vipers have sent defensemen Travis Hamonic to the Rangers in exchange for Left Wing Chris Kreider and a 2013 second round draft pick. The Vipers have been looking for some help at the wing position with some of the injuries that have happened so far this season.

"Kreider is a great prospect and someone who is going to do a great job on this team." said GM Rick Dudley.

Kreider will join the team in time for start on the third like with Bailey and Joensuu when the Vipers take on the St. Louis Blues on Friday Night, November 23 in St. Louis.

VIPERS TRADE DRAFT PICKS WITH FLAMES

detroitnews.com - November 26th, 2012 - By Vic Venom

Auburn Hills, Mi - The Detroit Vipers today announced that they had accepted a trade offer from the Calgary Flames that sees Detroit send an unsigned rookie and two extra draft picks not needed to Calgary for their 2013 first round pick in next year's draft.

This deal replaces the first round pick lost in the trade made earlier this season when they trade for John Moore from Columbus.

"We had the extra draft picks from some of the trades made earlier this season that we made known were giveaways if needed. I knew at some point we would be able to regain that first round pick back." Said GM Rick Dudley.

This deal is the second deal the Vipers have made in four days and shows a possible glimps of things to come.

VIPERS BOUNCE BACK FROM ROUGH START,
SIT FOURTH IN ATLANTIC DIVISION

Detroitnews.com - December 1st, 2012 - By Vic Venom

Auburn Hills, Mi - Two months of the NHL season are now in the books and the Vipers have a bit of a struggle to get back into the thick of things.

Detroit would start the month of November with a six game losing streak losing to Carolina (2 - 1), Dallas (6 - 1), Los Angeles (5 - 2), Anaheim (3 - 1), San Jose (4 - 1), and finally New York (1 - 0). Head coach Jack Capuano got with his coaches to bring in a new plan and it helped out.

The Vipers turned things around by winning 5 of the last 7 games in the month including a four game winning streak against Nashville (3 - 1), New Jersey (7 - 3), Boston (4 - 3), & St. Louis (4 - 3)

The Washington Capitals still lead the Eastern Conference with 32 points overall followed by the New York Rangers with 30 points and the Boston Bruins with 29 points.

Over in the West, Los Angeles are still the Kings of the conference. The Kings lead the conference standings with 33 points followed by second place Calgary Flames with 31 points. The Chicago Blackhawks sit third overall in the conference with 30 points.

Someone better check the oil pressure in Edmonton as the sit all alone in the basement as the worst team in the league at just 12 points in 2 months. Here is a full look at the standings...
