Re: Into The WILD (A NHL 12 Minnesota Wild Dynasty)

OTHER SIGNINGS

Sign (LW) FEDOTENKO to a 1 year deal worth $1.5M
- A speedy forward that is a good offensive threat. Legs have slowed down at 33 but a great addition for the 3rd line

Sign (LW) BRUNNSTROM to a 1 year deal worth $1.05M
- Did not pan out in Dallas, maybe a change of scenery will do him well. Projected 1st line in Houston

Sign (LW) MACINTYRE to a 1 year deal worth 750K
- Big, strong, and tough. Scares the opposition. Will enforce for Houston

Sign © STOA to a 1 year deal worth 850K
- Development was stifled in Colorado when he fell out with the coaches, new start in Houston could set him straight

Sign (RW) Kotalik to a 3 year deal worth 600K
- Another aging winger that will spend the twilight of his career in the AHL. 2 way contract means he can be called up to the NHL very easily

Sign (D) SARICH to a 1 year deal worth $2.3M
- A big, heavy hitting, stay at home D. Fits the Mold of a Wild Defenseman

The WILD have 2 open roster spots for future signings.

Re: Into The WILD (A NHL 12 Minnesota Wild Dynasty)

NEW FACES IN NEW PLACES

ANAHEIM: None

Notes - Team stays mostly the same, got a lot younger with absence of Koivu and Selanne.

BOSTON: Ponikarowski, C. Mason, Erixon

Notes - Will miss Tim Thomas in net but Rask should be up for the starting role. Mason a competent backup.

BUFFALO: Auld, Ott, Scott

Notes: Team got a lot tougher with addition of Ott and Scott.

CALGARY: Wideman

Notes - Lost some scoring with departure of Jokinen, picked up capable D in Wideman.

CAROLINA: Staal

Notes - Jordan adds some 2nd line depth for a team slowly falling into place.

COLORADO: Moulson, McGinn, Downie

Notes - Picked up come good 2 way players, should help the transitional game.

COLUMBUS: Doan, Savard, Foligno, Bobrovsky

Notes - Lots of new faces in Columbus, lets see if it translates to more wins.

DALLAS: Roy, Langkow, Ryder

Notes - Loss toughness with Ott's departure.

DETROIT: Smyth, Prust, Mrazek

Notes - Giving rookie (G) some starts this season, Prust first bonafide enforcer in Motown in a long time.

EDMONTON: Ramo, Brust

Notes - Still pushing the youth movement, going with some very young goalies this year. Will Eager be enough to protect young stars.

FLORIDA: Wolski, Jagr, Avery, Upshall, Markstrom

Notes - Markstrom gets the starting job, can he keep up with the long season. Jagr on 3rd team in 3 years. Will this be his last year?

LA: No additions

Notes - A stacked team that was decimated by injuries last season. Hopefully this will be their breakout year.

MONTREAL: No Additions

Notes - Going with pretty much the same team as last year, only older and more experienced.

NASHVILLE: Jokinen, Poti

Notes - We'll see how they do without the tandem of Weber and Suter on the backend.

NEW JERSEY: Nabokov, Ellis

Notes -Brodeur era is over. Nabokov and Ellis will split games. Big void left with absence of Parise.

NEW YORK RANGERS: No additions

Notes - Sporting the same team as last year's Atlantic Division Champions.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS: Semin, Cullen, Abdelkader, Parros, Carkner, Visnovsky, Oduya, Hannam

Notes - Been stocking up on talent last couple of years. Will this finally be their breakout year? Probably not until they get a major upgrade in net.

OTTAWA: Gaustad, Methot, Schneider

Notes - Picked up Schneider through an Offer Sheet who will be there starter. Lost confidence in Anderson and have Lehner waiting in the wings. Gaustad doesn't replace the toughness lost with departure of Carkner and Konopka.

PHILADELPHIA: Weber, Schenn

Notes - Finally solidified the team's D with Weber and Schenn. With a healthy Pronger this team is an early cup favorite. No shortage of shooters on this team that shouldn't miss the absence of Jagr, JVR.

PHOENIX: Michalek

Notes - Return of Michalek but pretty much the same in the Desert.

PITTSBURGH: Suter, King, Vokoun, Jacques

Notes - A little more depth for a team with a lot of talent. Vokoun should be a solid backup to give Fleury more rest down the stretch.

SAN JOSE: Bouchard, Selanne, Winnik

Notes - Thornton gets some new line mates but will it translate to post season success. Winnik adds some depth on the 3rd line.

ST. LOUIS: No additions

Notes -Can the Blues stay healthy enough to return to the post season again this year? The talent is there.

TAMPA BAY: Filatov, Lindbach

Notes - Will Lindbach be the answer to this team's goaltending woes?

TORONTO: JVR, McBain

Notes - If JVR can stay healthy he should be a good compliment to Kessel and take all the pressure off of him. Burke up to his old tricks again claiming McBain through an Offersheet. Let's see if he fills the void left by Schenn.

VANCOUVER: Fehr, Mensator

Notes -Not a lot of offseason moves with just the addition of Fehr. Schneider no longer a steady backup option as the Nucks go with Mensator.

WASHINGTON: Holtby, Ribiero

Notes - Young backup Holtby should provide some healthy competition for Neurvirth. Ribiero is an excellent 2nd line Center for the Caps.

WINNIPEG: Gilbert

Notes -Gilbert replaces defensive Oduya. Should help on the PP.

Re: Into The WILD (A NHL 12 Minnesota Wild Dynasty)

PARISE MAKES STATEMENT DEBUT

October 6th, 2012
Associated Press NHL.com

The Minnesota Wild travelled to the Big Apple for their season opener against the New York Rangers. The new look Wild were sporting several new faces in the lineup; including Parise, Suter, Havlat, Sarich, Grandlund, and Maatta.

The Rangers would strike first when just 5 minutes in a bad line change would let Dubinsky and Hagan walk in on a 2 on 1 and score. After Setoguchi tied it up, Parise would intercept an errand pass and one time the puck past Lundqvist for his first point as a Wild.

Staal’s point shot would notch it up again but Koivu and Parise would go to work on the go ahead goal. Havlat would get the game winner on a great individual effort when he would take a stretch pass from Kampfer and put a shot on Lundqvist, get his own rebound and bury it past the sprawling goalie.

Parise would end the night with 3 points and the night's first star in what would be a statement game. The win will be marred by a brutal late hit by Heatley on Ranger forward Marion Gaborik. The hit caused him to miss a few shifts but he would return and there was no penalty called on the play. Fortunately for Heatley, League Commissioner Brendan Shanahan stated he will not discipline the hit.

The win goes to Josh Harding as Nicklas Backstrom was unavailable due to personal reasons. The Wild will continue their road trip to start the season when they travel to Montreal to take on the Canadiens in 2 days.

Great start of your Wild dynasty. Good luck! But you have a very good team, so I think you will get some silverware. I like your reports and format.
