Another Day, Another OT Loss
The Devils fought back after falling behind 1-0 by scoring twice on an extended 5 on 3 powerplay late in the second, as Patrik Elias scored for the second time in as many games, and Ryan Clowe scored in his first game back after missing 3 games with an upper body injury, but RJ Umberger scored twice, and Nathan Horton got the overtime winner to drop New Jersey.

Re: The Life: New Jersey Devils

Devils Acquire Landeskog from Avalanche
The Dainius Zubrus era in New Jersey is over. Zubrus, along with the 1st Round pick the Devils picked up from the Sharks were shipped to Colorado in exchange for 21 year old Swedish forward Gabriel Landeskog.

Landeskog signed an 8 year $5.57M per year deal with Colorado this offseason, but with the Avalanche in last place, and the contract they gave to Matt Duchene Landeskog became expendable, and in desperate need of more scoring the Devils were happy to part with the 35 year old Zubrus and a 1st for a player ready to contribute now.

In making room for Landeskog's salary the Devils designated defenseman Alexander Urbom for assignment, but he was claimed by Phoenix.

Devils Ride 4th Lines' Big Night to Easy Victory
For atleast one night the Devils scoring issues were solved, as both Andrei Loktionov and Mattias Tedenby scored their first goals of the year, as New Jersey beat the Islanders on Saturday night. Cory Schnieder posted his second shutout of the season, and Gabriel Landeskog added a power play goal in his first game with the team as the Devils rolled easily.

Making the competition just look plain silly. Better off giving your opponent a cheap bottle of Thunderbird and drown their sorrows prior to their contest against the Devils.

And getting Gabriel Landeskog for practically nothing? That is robbery, which is a felony. I have reported you to the authorities for such a heist. You should hear the police coming shortly...

Haha. I also threw in Anthony Brodeur, which I forgot about...but yeah I've offered way more for less.

Vanek Shines as Devils Hold Off Penguins
Thomas Vanek scored his first hat-trick as a Devil, and New Jersey needed all of the tallies as Pittsburgh rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game in the third. Mathias Tedenby added his second goal in as many games, and Travis Zajac knocked in an empty netter as the Devils won back to back games for the first time since December 7-10th.
