September 8th
Time advance to September 8th another practice. Tomorrow you play arch-rival Martindale Tech in the battle of the little brown bucket. What is your player working on during practice. What is going through their head?

Re: The Story of Dayton Hockey

For the first half of practice, Josiah focuses on fundamentals. For the last half, he'll work on the special plays and techniques he'll use in the real game.

Do I need to say what Fat is thinking about?

Winston is working on his shooting accuracy.

Skinner is working on his acceleration, doing suicides.

Re: The Story of Dayton Hockey

Backup goalie Jon Thursten had been sick all week. When he arrived at practice he seemed sluggish not playing well at all. Then starting goalie Patrick O'Riely gets run into by Justin Stukes.
"Aagh my knee" Yells Patrick
The entire team went silent.
"I can't move it"
Coach Bolitsky skates over
"We'll get you an X-Ray" Coach said calmly

X-Rays returned and Patrick has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

Fat almost throws up as he realizes he might get some playing time. He doesn't barf, of course; that means having less food and Fat doesn't 'do' skinny.

Re: The Story of Dayton Hockey

Skinner in dressing room after practice:

"Every good team has to face adversity, boys. That's what sets you apart. Being able to handle what gets thrown at you and keep moving forward. Our goal doesn't change for this season and even though Riels went down today that doesn't mean we stop playing. Let's play harder and win it for him. It starts with Martindale tomorrow. Stayed focused, boys."

Re: The Story of Dayton Hockey

Josiah knows he'll have to step up for Dayton to have any chance of winning this one with Fat "in" net.
