Man, new era for this part of the forum. So supportive. 4-5 constant chises.
We need to revive the hockey section. You should pull out a 'chise of your own.

I am already 72 games (all played) into a Columbus season. I don't have the chising itch and I don't want to start a new one due to how far I'm in. I think I'd get like 4 comments on the first page, which would annoy me because I wouldn't feel I deserved em yet; gotta earn comments.

So, sorry DrGravyBoat. I'll stop stealing the thread. Looking forward to this.

Re: International Glory~An Italian Hockey Story

Year 1 Schedule
Years will end with the tournament for the current division

Game 1:
@ Great Britain Win 3-2

Game 2:
vs Poland Loss 5-3

Game 3:
@ Belarus Win 4-3

Game 4:
@Japan Win 3-2

Game 5:
vs Austria Loss 5-2

Game 6:
vs Poland Win 4-2

Game 7:
vs Austria Loss 2-0

Game 8:
vs Great Britain

Game 9:
@ Germany (Non-Wager Match)

Game 10:
vs France

Game 11:
@ Slovakia (Non-Wager Match)

Game 12:
@ Finland (Wager Match)

In order to add difficultly I must have 25 points to qualify for the Div.II tournament. Below is the points system

Result | Points

Regulation win-3
Regulation Loss-0
Overtime Win-2
Overtime Loss-1

And in another attempt to add difficulty, I have teams ranked higher than mine that I play but only 1 of the games is a wager match, (Finland) in order to make it so that I can't get a stacked team early.

Italy Squeaks Past Great Britain
Sorry For the bad picture, used my iPhone.

Italy was down must of the game but, it's the team with the most goals that wins as Italy knocked of Great Britain 3-2 in England.

Italy was down with 5:24 after a power play goal from Andrew Gray. After grabbing the puck from below the goal line, he walked in front and was stoned by Andreas Bernard. Unfortunately for Italy the defence men had cheated up allowing for Gray to take another shot. Bernard's magic would run out as after a third shot Andrew Gray found the twine.

It wouldn't be long until Italy struck back however. Diego Coster gathered speed through the neutral zone until being tripped by a British defenceman. After falling to his knees, he got up and walked to the side of the net. He looked as though he would head into the slot before tucking the puck just inside the post. However the ref was a complete idiot and didn't award Britain a penalty for the tripping penalty that had happened. Italy argued the penalty but didn't get their compensation. Ironically, Britain committed a slash penalty off the face-off.

After allowing a weak goal, Andreas Bernard, shut the door the remainder of the game. Coster would score with some cross-crease grease early into the third, adding his second of the night. It was a well set up rush and great defensive and neutral zone play that allowed Italy to use their speed to generate these rushes.

Finally with roughly five minutes remaining, Italy got to use their power play unit that had already knotted the game up. After cycling the puck along the boards for quite some time, they found the small yet nimble "Super" Mario Cavallo in front for the one-T. Italy would hang on despite a incredibly strong push from Britain with one minute to play.

Italian Player of the Game

Diego Coster, 2 goals, 5 shots

Re: International Glory~An Italian Hockey Story

Italy Loses Home Opener

PAD STACK!!!!!
Italy came short today against Poland losing 5-3 all while never leading throughout the game.

The game did not get off to a good start for Italy as they were down 2-0 before they had even knew what had hit 'em. After a goal from Gabrielle Vegetti cut the Poles lead in half, the goalies from each side made incredible saves including the pad stack from Andreas Bernard, a pad stack had not occurred in any form of high level hockey since 1998 when Martin Brodeur did it.

Both teams allowed two goals in the second making it a 4-3 game heading into the third period. After a long period of time with back and forth hockey, when it looked like the Italians would tie the game up and sent it to O.T. the Poles scored on a breakaway, ending Bernard's night. The Poles would hang on for the remainder of the game, moving them to first in Div.II with 6 points in two games. Italy drops to the middle of the pack with 3 points.
