Re: Reviving the Flyers(NHL17)

Ducks Ruin Flyers Home Opener with Blowout

Nick Cousins executes a perfect hip check on Rickard Rakell

NHL.com -- The Flyers evening started off wonderful. Celebrating their 50th Anniversary, the Flyers came out flying with their fans cheering them on, but they could not solve John Gibson. Shot after shot Gibson turned away as the Ducks held strong. Emerson Etem would give the Ducks a 1-0 lead when a wraparound eluded Steve Mason. The 2nd period was much more even and both goalies kept their respective teams in the game. Third period was a much different story. The Flyers got the game tied when Scott Laughton managed to beat a Duck defender to the puck and shot it into the empty net off a bad rebound by Gibson, but that was going to be all for the Flyers. The Ducks on the other hand managed to score four straight in the last five minutes of the final stanza to ruin the celebrations. Etem would add his 2nd of the night, Kesler would score on the Powerplay, Nick Kerdiles would score his 1st Career NHL goal and Ryan Garbutt added one more with less than a minute to go for good measures.

Flyers Pound Penguins

[Damn it forgot Picture]

NHL.com -- All four of the Flyers lines added goals as the Philadelphia Flyers blew out their cross state rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jakub Voracek(3 Assists), Claude Giroux(1 Goal, 1 Assist), and Nick Cousins(2 Assists) led the way for the Orange and the Black. In what has become a theme in this early season the Flyers are getting scoring from everyone. Five of the Flyers scorers scored their 3rd+ goal of the season. Steve Mason played his best game of the season, stopping 26 shots. Malkin and Kunitz were the only ones to beat Mason. Both teams are now 4-5-0

Re: Reviving the Flyers(NHL17)

Konecny Leads the Flyers to 8th Straight Victory

Konecny scores a shorthanded goal that was the only goal scored

NHL.com -- The Flyers came into this game with 7 straight victories under their belts, while their opponents were riding a 9 game winless streak. Frederik Andersen and Michael Neuvirth did everything in their powers to win the game for their teams. In a back and forth struggle it wasn't until Sean Couturier found Travis Konecny on a 2-on-1 that handcuffed Andersen that the goalless draw was settled. The Flyers have now won 8 straight games and are sitting atop the Metro Division with a 10-5 record. There is some bad news, though. Ivan Provorov suffered an injury late in the 2nd period when he was hit by Colin Greening and fell awkwardly into the boards. Early reports are not good for the young defenseman who has been exceeding expectations this season, scoring a goal and adding an assist, while also having a +7 +/-.

Re: Reviving the Flyers(NHL17)

Flyers Mount Comeback on Thankgiving

Nick Cousins celebrates his late third period goal

NHL.com -- The Flyers and Rangers played their Thanksgiving Hockey Game and fans were in for a treat. Rangers fans watched as their team shot out to a 3-0 lead by the midway point of the game with goals from Jooris, Nash and Holden, but Flyers fans got the last laugh as Claude Giroux willed his team to rally with two straight goals on "Claude Giroux Bobblehead Game." Sean Couturier would tie the game with a laser from the circle after a sweet dish from Wayne Simmonds. Simmonds would give the Flyers a 4-3 lead after Travis Konecny found a way to get him a pass with Dan Girardi hanging on him. Nick Cousins would give the Flyers breathing room with less than a minute left as he batted in a Raffl shot to give the Flyers a 5-3 lead. A late penalty by Scott Laughton would give the Rangers a chance to comeback and a D.Stepan goal with Lundqvist pulled gave them hope, but Steve Mason shut that down after the 4th goal.
