Ok, I had to make a new thread bc the other one suffered a strange glitch that logged me out every time I tried to access it. I mean, I could get into it, but lost the ability to edit bc it showed me as logged out. Weird. I hope this one doesn't do the same. lol Guess, I'll see. Or never edit.
FRACHISE CONCEPT:
K, This is the first time I've ever will be using streamed game highlights and I'm quite excited about it.
I didn't figure out how to do this until about 14 games or so into the season, I think. So it'll be pretty basic until then.
I simmed the first season in Ottawa so I'll start by reviewing last seasons results; stats, league leaders, standings, player retirement, movement, and draft.
I'm using my sliders, which Ive yet to update on the sliders section but I will eventually. lol
With the exception of simming the first season, I play all games...no simming.
Ok...cant think of anything else so here we go!!!
After Long Painful Absence, NHL Hockey Returns to Quebec City
It was 21 years ago that the Quebec Nordiques left Canada for the foothills of the Rocky Mountains to become the Colorado Avalanche, winning the Stanley Cup in their first season as an American franchise.
21 Painful Years.
But alas, after such a long spell without a dog in the fight, Quebec is now in the thick of the NHL spotlight as their new franchise will dress in the famous Quebec Blue with the also famous
classic crest on their sweater. However, the team has a new calling card, The Quebec City Winter Hawks.
"Its an exciting time for sure, we wanted to breathe fresh air into an old story while retaining what makes us such a familiar and respectable image in league history," said GM Patrick Roy, appointed to the helm this last winter when the announcement was made that NHL hockey was once again coming to Quebec City. "We have a solid group of guys that we are going to try to keep together for a bit...see what we have, and then go from there," said Roy in regards to the roster the Winter Hawks (still refered to by many as the Nords) inherited from the Ottawa Senators.
"We have a long road ahead of us, but we believe we have some of the most passionate hockey people in the entire NHL who just cannot wait to get this thing started," said chairman Charmain Francois.
The Winter Hawks will be playing in the newly built Exxon Centre. The season ticket drive is underway.
Hockey is back in Quebec, its our time once again.
