2018 NHL Draft Rankings [Edition One]
Dahlin and Svechnikov Lead the Pack

With the 2018 National Hockey League Entry draft still a full season away, here is a very early look at some top prospects.

1. Rasmus Dahlin - SHL - Defensemen - Left
The prize jewel in this draft, Dahlin projects as a number one defensemen.
2. Evegny Svechnikov - OHL - Right Wing - Left
Just a step behind Dahlin but could challenge him for the first overall selection. A flat out goal scorer.
3. Joe Veleno - QMJHL - Centre - Left
Talented playmaking centre could pan out into an elite point scorer in the NHL.
4. Brady Tkachuk - NCAA - Left Wing - Left
A bruising power forward whose stock could climb with a good year.
5. Quinton Hughes - NCAA - Defensemen - Left
An offensive defensemen who excels at making quick breakout passes and joining the rush.
6. Filip Zadina - QMJHL - Right Wing - Left
A skilled two-way forward who draws comparisons to Boston’s Brad Marchand.
7. Bode Wilde - USNDTP - Defensemen - Right
A big, right-hand shot defensemen. Which NHL team isn’t looking for one of these?
8. Joel Farabee - USNDTP - Left Wing - Left
A poor man’s Andrei Svechnikov. Most likely the next best goal scorer coming out of the draft.
9. Adam Boqvist - SHL - Defensemen - Right
Has a great shot from the point and loves to join the rush. Just as solid defensively as he is offensively.
10. Ryan Merkley - OHL - Defensemen - Right
Could be the biggest riser/faller in the draft. Has all the tools but there are questions about his character.
11. Rasmus Kupari - Liiga - Centre - Left
Projects as top-six material with soft hands and great playmaking ability.
12. Jared McIsaac - QMJHL - Defensemen - Left
In a stacked defensive draft, McIsaac could vault over defenders with a good year.
13. Jesperi Kotkaniemi - Liiga - Centre - Left
Probably the safest pick in the draft. Could become a top-six forward but will probably translate into a top-nine forward at the next level.
14. Ty Smith - WHL - Defensemen- Left
A little undersized, but Smith could become the next Ryan Ellis. A potential quarterback for an NHL teams’ powerplay.
15. Grigori Denisenko - MHL - Left Wing - Right
A skilled, under-sized winger who is one of the riskiest picks in the draft. Could become an elite player in the league or bust out as a skilled AHL forward.

A pretty young team, the talent is there but it may take a few seasons before they mature.

Love the dynasty eagerly following. Question, thinking of getting nhl 18. When you make a expansion team can you download someone's design or is there a premade expansion team? I know the knights but. Just newer to nhl and not all that good st designing teams. Thank you

Unfortunately you cannot download jersey designs from other people, although that is definitely an idea I would love to be implemented in the series. One thing you can do is draw inspiration from jerseys/colour schemes in other sports. Last year I created a Cleveland Chiefs jersey that I really liked using a green and yellow colour scheme inspired from the Green Bay Packers. I’ve been trying to find a way to post my jerseys to this site but photogucket has unfortunately disabled third party sharing which kinda sucks.

Yeah, wish they can let you upload a Logo like the old NCAA 14 Football, but they have a moderate variety of logos to pick from. I'd probably do what OilCountry said and follow the colour schemes of other major sports teams.
