*After my Seattle franchise was ruined with an error code, I've decided to take a stab at my favorite team. Hopefully the game won't get ruined again.*

Early this morning, Bob Murray tendered his resignation as General Manager of the Anaheim Ducks. It's widely expected that he will be taking over as president of hockey operations in Vancouver. Murray leaves the team having won the Pacific division title 6 out of the past 7 seasons.
Former team captain and hall of fame member Paul Kariya will be named GM later today.
Kariya stepped away from hockey after retirement, and only recently re-appeared before the public eye before his recent induction.
Known as one of the smartest players in the game before his career was derailed by concussions, it will be very interesting to see what he does with this aging franchise.
Veteran players like Corey Perry, Ryan Kesler, and Ryan Getzlaf are all over 33 years of age, and take up over $23.5 million of the $79.5 million cap.
Speaking of the salary cap, the Ducks, with Patrick Eaves starting the season on the LTIR, have $4.495 million in space available. With raises coming in 2019-2020 to key players, such as starting goaltender John Gibson, it will be interesting to see how Kariya navigates the cap this year.
The team will try to inject some youth into it's lineup to start the season, as forwards Troy Terry, Sam Steel and Maxime Comtois will apparently make the opening night roster.
