Re: NHL 19: Halifax Schooners (32nd NHL Franchise)

Game 4
Nash, Khudobin lead Schooners to Game 4 victory

Series tied 2-2

Schooners Quotable

Rick Nash on the win:
“That is a huge win for us. We did not want to go back on the road down 3-1 so we made it priority to win this game.”

Rick Nash on two goal performance:
“Feels good but feels even better that it helped the team pick up a big win. My line-mates and the entire team was playing well tonight so that made it easier for me to do my job out there.”

Rick Nash on going back to Florida for Game 5:
“Time to park this game here and get ready for Game 5. We know what we have to work on and we know what we can improve so that will all come together in practice tomorrow morning before we fly out. We know what to expect from them and we are ready for it.”

Head Coach Jody Shelley on a much better Schooners effort:

“The key to success tonight was everyone playing a full 60. Once we had the lead, I made sure the boys didn’t take their foot off the gas or give them too many opportunities.”

Head Coach Jody Shelley on Khudobin’s 33-save performance:

“He’s our guy and that’s why. He has been tremendous down the stretch for us giving us a chance to win every night and he did just that.”

Re: NHL 19: Halifax Schooners (32nd NHL Franchise)

Game 5
Hoffman's three-point night give Panthers important 3-2 series lead

Panthers lead series 3-2.

Schooners Quotable

Lance Bouma on the loss:
"It definitely sucks. Now our backs are against the wall going back home and that's not the position we wanted to put ourselves in. We had a few hiccups in the third period and obviously showed on the scoreboard."

Lance Bouma on the third period:
"As I said, we had a few hiccups that cost us and that seems to be a problem with this group right now. We played well enough to win the first two periods, but took our foot off the gas pedal a little too much there in the third."

Dion Phaneuf on going back to Halifax down 3-2:
"Obviously we have some work to do but we aren't counting ourselves out just yet. We have been playing well so far so we just have to keep doing what we are doing, but most importantly we just have to keep it simple and keep our legs moving for 60 minutes."

Note: I used to write for QMJHL website and for QMJHL blog (The Q News) and did post-game interviews and had the stories published, so basically all these quotes are what I would usually hear (and your typical "hockey" answers. Trying to add some "realness" to my posts . Hope you guys are enjoying!

Re: NHL 19: Halifax Schooners (32nd NHL Franchise)

Game 6
Schooners heart-broken in double-OT loss to Panthers

Schooners Quotables

James Neal on the OT loss:

"You know it's heartbreaking, it's devastating...we had a good feeling before the game that we would be forcing a Game 7. In the end, we played well - I think our best game of the series - but it's time to hang our heads high and look forward to next season."

James Neal on the hot play of Panthers' Mike Hoffman:

"He was a factor for them out there. We knew that but didn't do our best to try and contain him. When you give a guy like Mike that much time and space, he'll make you pay."

Head Coach Jody Shelley on the team's first round exit:

"It's obviously not where we want to be but we can look at this as a building block for this franchise. I think we have a lot of the core sticking around so we build off this and see where it takes us next season and the next few seasons."

Re: NHL 19: Halifax Schooners (32nd NHL Franchise)

Nice key position pick ups in Free Agency.

Bobrovsky Duchene & hjalmarsson - All solid additions. How's your cap looking after that?
