Longtime foes KINGS/SHARKS set for first matchup of new year.
PREVIEW
Los Angeles, CA- The amount of hatred runs deep for the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks.
"Yeah we don't like each other." Sharks Alternate Captain Joe Thornton stated. "Can't stand them."
"History there. Both teams have huge animosity towards each other." Kings Head Coach John Stevens stated.
The hatred for these two Pacific Division rivals dates back for many years including the 2014 Playoffs when the Sharks blew a 3-0 lead to the Kings who became the fourth team in history to comeback and win the Series in 7 games.
But the Sharks would soon get revenge in 2016 when San Jose stuffed LA to the side in five games on their way to their first ever Stanley Cup final.
"Years go by and things change. " Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated. "We're still rivals however and every matchup is a piece of new history."
The Sharks enter tonight's game licking their wounds from a 6-1 loss to the Ducks.
