GM Dubas holds Press Conference ahead of Resign Period:

Bubba O'Neill was on scene today for a press conference held by General Manager Kyle Dubas


"This resign period, we're looking to ice the best team possible, while leaving enough cap space to potentially be buyers at the trade deadline. This may mean moves, it may mean making room via LTIR. All options are being considered".


From Bubba: What this means I think is that players like Jason Spezza may have to consider taking a significant paycut if they wish to remain with the teams. It may also mean the use of buyouts on players such as Nathan Horton & David Clarkson. I would so be surprised to see Michael Hutchinson return as backup, unless on a significant paycut.

I admit not my best looks for Seattle. It actually are the colors of a real life Seattle Dragons though. Probably should have used different jersey styles.

LW Andreas Johnsson - Signs Offer Sheet with Minnesota Wild

The Toronto Maple Leafs decided not to match the 4 year, $8.755mil offer sheet, and therefore will join Minnesota.

In return, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be compensated nicely.

Heading there will be 2019 1st, 2nd & 3rd Round Picks and a 2020 1st Round Pick.

GM Dubas said this today:

"We would like to thank Andreas for all the work he has put in over the years. We feel he has a better chance to prove his worth on a team with less depth on the wings as us. This was not an indication of any lack of skill. We wish him all the best"
