Casey Mize pitched 7 innings allowing just one run, as the Tigers opened a 4 game series in Houston with a 6-2 win. Mize won his 6th game of the season. Victor Reyes drove in two in the win.

Robbie Grossman hit a three run home run in the 7th and drove in 4 on the day, as the Tigers won game 2 of the series 6-4. Detroit trailed 4-3 in the 7th, before Grossman's homer. Tarik Skubal earned his 5th win of the season.
ASTROS 7 TIGERS 3 MAY 7, 2022
Alex Bregman hit a three run home run in the 7th, and the Astros scored 5 times in that inning, as they took game three 7-3. Kyle Funkhouser allowed 3 runs in just 2/3 innings, taking the loss.
TIGERS 5 ASTROS 4 MAY 8, 2022
Javier Baez hit a 2 run double in the top of the 8th, and Kyle Dutcher homered in the 9th, as the Tigers won the final game 5-4. Detroit trailed 3-2 in the 8th, before the Baez double. Joe Jimenez earned the win in relief, his 4th of the season.

Riley Green activated
Centerfielder Riley Green was activated from the I.L. Greene, out since the end of Spring Training, will join the team in Detroit for the upcoming homestand. Catcher Dustin Garneau was optioned to Toledo to make room on the 26 man roster.
Candelario progressing
Third Baseman Jeimer Candelario is progressing from his bruised finger. He must remain on the I.L. for another 6 days, but is expected to rejoin the Tigers as soon as eligible to come off the I.L. No rehab assignment is expected.
