After losing two of three to the Twins, the Tigers headed to Tampa Bay for a three game series to conclude their road trip. The Tigers won game one 12-8. Riley Greene (4) homered, and drove in five. Spencer Torkelson (11) also homered, and drove in two. Javier Baez, and Kerry Carpenter also had a pair of RBI each. Jack Flaherty started, but lasted just four and a third innings, giving up six runs. Will Vest earned the win in relief.
The Tigers took game two, 7-4. Rookie Colt Keith (4) hit a pair of home runs, and drove in three. Riley Greene (5) homered for the second straight game, and drove in a pair. Matt Manning pitched six strong innings to earn his 5th win of the season.
In game three, the Tigers fell behind 4-0 after two innings, but battled back to within one. Tampa added a run in the fourth, but the Tigers tied the game in the seventh on Javy Baez's 4th home run of the season, a two run shot. Roley Greene drove in the winning run in the top of the tenth. Baez had 4 RBI in the game. Shelby Miller (1-0) earned the win in relief. Alex Lange earned his 9th save.
The Tigers have an off day on Thursday, then head home for a six game homestand, starting with three games against the Royals (11-15) then three with the Cardinals (10-16).
