Chase4Lombardi - GM/Executive PS4 simulation league is expanding

Hello fellow team builders. We a team building oriented league looking for members for a "practice run" league leading up to a M18 reboot. We are in the 4th year of our current league (second run) and we have worked out the kinks, and now feel confident in with our rules and leadership. We have 9 active members right now, we kept it small on purpose so we could smooth out the bumps in the road.

A few things you should know...

We simulate every game, you do have the option to play the super bowl if you make it.
We have a specific set of rules and procedures in place to keep the league sim, and to keep it moving along smoothly. Resign rules, trade rules, etc. See full rules list below.
We advance once a day at 9 pm cst.
We utilize the GroupMe chat app, please be ready to use it!
All of our leadership comes from Any a Given Sunday, a long standing league affiliated with OS.
This league is fun and laid back.
If you make it through this practice run you'll be a part of the M18 squad!

Chase 4 Lombardi (GM) League Rules
Team Start Up
- Choose Coach or Owner
o Coaches – Can create a coach or use current coach
o Owner – If you choose owner you need to make sure you keep up on all owner responsibilities and do not bankrupt your team.
- Relocation
o If you are an owner and you choose to relocate your team that is fine, but please keep the original team name.
Pre-Season General Rules
- Injuries
o Injuries will be on during weeks 1-3 of the pre-season, off for week 4 to simulate more closely the NFL experience.
- Free Agents
o After week 4 of the pre-season there will be a 24 hour waiver period for teams to make claims on available free agents, based on waiver priority. This will account for players that are cut by their respective teams.
o During weeks 1-4 of the pre-season all available free agents are able to freely be signed.
- Trades
o Any trades involving players (either sending or receiving a player) during the preseason will count as part of your allotted season trades (a total of 2).
- Advances
o Advances during the pre-season will be done in 12 hour intervals at 9 am and 9 pm Central Standard Time each day.
Regular Season General Rules
- All games will be simulated. This is a GM league so no playing your games.
- Training
o Users are allowed to do the weekly training for their team. However, advancements to the next week will not be delayed for training purposes.
- Advances
o Regular season advances from Weeks 1-8 will be every 24 hours at 9 pm Central Standard Time. Requests for a delayed advance can be submitted and considered by the commissioner group.
o Post trade deadline (Weeks 9-17) advances will go to two a day, typically in 12 hour intervals at 9 am and 9 pm CST.
- Trades
o Each team is allowed a total of 2 trades in season that involve players (sending out or receiving a player(s)). Pre-season and Regular Season up to the end of Week 8 make up the time frame in regards to in season trades.
o All trades must be approved by the commissioner group. One team involved in the agreed upon trade must DM the trade proposal to the trade commissioner, that commissioner will confirm with the rest of the commissioner group and let the teams involved know if the trade is approved or not.
o Trading with CPU teams is allowed, but is more difficult than trading with another User. To perform a trade with the CPU the process is as follows: You place the player from your team that you wish to trade on the trading block in game. Once CPU teams make offers review them to see if there is one you would like to accept. If there is a deal you would like to take you must follow the steps outlined in the User to User trades to get approval from the commissioner group.
o Once trades are submitted for approval the commissioner group will provide a decision on the trade within 24 hours of submission.
o Non-Playoff teams are allowed to begin negotiating and submitting trades for approval to be completed in the off-season.
o Non-Trade Eligible Players:
▪ Players who are in the first year of their deals: Rookies, FA signings, Team Resigns.
- Resigning Players
o Each team is allotted 3 player resigns and 1 player franchise tag per season. Resigns can be completed during the open period in season, or during the Resign Stage at the beginning of the off-season.
o Each team will also have 1 designated resign for Undrafted Free Agents. This applies to any UDFAs a team signs after the draft (rookies only). If a team wishes to use the UDFA designation they must designate which player to the commissioners during the period between the start of Week 17 and the start of the Wild Card round. At that point we will edit their contract to include an additional year (typical UDFA contracts are 2 years), at a 10% increase from the first year salary.
o When negotiating contracts with players during resigning periods all teams must adhere to the following contract regulations:
▪ A 1 year contract is not required to have a bonus
▪ A 2 year contract must have a bonus of any amount greater than $0
▪ A 3 year contract the bonus must be at least equal to or greater than 30% of the yearly salary. (i.e. a salary worth $10M/yr would have a $3M or higher bonus)
▪ A 4 year contract the bonus must be at least equal to or greater than 40% of the yearly salary.
▪ A 5 year contract the bonus must be at least equal to or greater than 50% of the yearly salary
▪ A 6 year contract the bonus must be at least equal to or greater than 60% of the yearly salary
▪ A 7 year contract the bonus must be at least equal to or greater than 70% of the yearly salary
- Free Agents/Waivers
o All Free Agents are able to be signed with the exception of newly released players with an Overall Rating of 75 or higher. These players will be put through an initial 24 hour waiver period before becoming an unconditional Free Agent.
o If a User decides to release a player with an Overall Rating of 75 or higher in season, they must first communicate that desire to the commissioner group so that player can be put through the waiver process.
o A player that is on waivers will remain on waivers for a 24 hour period. Teams will submit claims to a designated commissioner per a Direct Message in GroupMe and at the end of the waiver period a claim will be awarded. If more than one team places a claim on a waivered player the team with the highest waiver priority will win that claim and go to the bottom of the waiver order.
o Teams are not allowed to release a player and then resign them from Free Agency for a period of 1 full league season. If a team trades a player and the receiving team releases said player the original team is not allowed to sign that player from Free Agency until the beginning of the next league season.
Off-Season General Rules
- Advances
o Advances for Resign Stage, Free Agency and Advance to Draft will remain at 24 hours.
o The way the draft will schedule and advance will be based on what point in the week we are able to begin. If we reach the draft stage during the week we will most likely do a paused draft and if it is not completed by the weekend we will go to live draft setting at a designated time. If we are going to line up to begin the draft on a weekend it will most likely be a live draft at a designated time and completed in one sitting. We will do our best to accommodate people’s schedules, but it is difficult to find one time that works for all users to draft. The commissioner group will communicate through the league chat on GroupMe as to what the plans for each draft will be.
o Advances between the Free Agent stages will have a 2 hour window either way of 9 pm Central Standard Time to help eliminate sniping bids.
- Trades
o Each team is allowed 3 off-season trades that involve a player (either receiving or sending a player). The time frame for this is Stage 1 of Free Agency until the end of the Draft. All trades must adhere to the same process as Pre-season/Regular season trades.
o Each team is allowed 1 pick “trade back” during the draft with the CPU. When the pick you wish to trade back is on the clock request that the draft be paused if it is live. At that point you can review proposed offers from CPU. If an offer you wish to accept involves you acquiring a player you must get permission from the commissioners before accepting the deal.
o Pick for Pick trades between users are not limited and does not need commissioner approval.
General Rules
- Position Changes/Depth Chart
o Teams are allowed to change a player’s position, but must adhere to these stipulations:
▪ Player must remain within their position group
• OL can move along the OL
• DL can move along the DL
• OLBs can move to DE and vice versa in a 3-4 scheme
o Any moves outside of the above listed (i.e. an aging CB moves to Safety) must be submitted to the Position Change commissioner and approved before the user completes the change. Failure to abide by this rule can lead to punishment by the league.
o DO NOT PLAY PLAYERS OUT OF POSITION! No TEs at FB or WR..etc. If you feel like you have a legitimate reason to play a player out of position seek approval first.
- This league is made to have fun and run as a close simulation to the NFL experience. Please be respectful of others.
- Be active. We understand that life happens and in those situations just communicate with the commissioners so they are aware of extended inactivity. Users who go extended periods without any league activity without any type of notice are subject to being removed, and/or replaced, from the league.
- Failure to abide by league rules can result in disciplinary actions ranging from suspensions of a team player(s) up to the user being removed, and/or replaced, from the league.
If you have any questions about any of the league rules, or have suggestions that can enhance the quality of the league please reach out with these to a commissioner.

Please let me know if you are interested or if you have any questions!

I've been in it with these guys since the beginning and honestly I'm finding it more fun than actual game playing franchises.

I do, but admittedly, I won't be on it much as I'm not a fan of GroupMe. I would recommend checking out Slack. We did that for SSG, and there was some moaning/groaning at first, but it's a far superior setup.
