Madden 20 Start Today Mod/Franchise File 2020

Hello everyone,
As we move into the 2020 season I figured it was time to make a new thread for the Madden 20 Start Today Mod, with a more fitting thread title.

For those who are new, the Start Today Mod was started by me back in January of 2020, and has had extraordinary support from the community. The most updated franchise file included begins at THE 2021 PRESEASON, or if you scroll down you can download the franchise file from Version 2.4 in order to start at Week 1 of 2020 if you want. I originally created the franchise file with the Superbowl roster from EA and went through 2019, replicating everything that happened in real life, and have replicated everything throughout the offseason. So without further ado, here's what the Start Today Mod/Franchise File entails, among other things:

- Correct team records/standings for the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 Season
- Correct coaches for 2021/a fleshed out coaching FA pool
- Completely accurate 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 player season statistics, as well as completely accurate player career stats
- Completely accurate awards for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021winners (Aaron Rodgers as MVP, Aaron Donald as DPOY, etc)
- All FA's signed to their correct teams, as well as accurate year-by-year cap hits
- All contract extensions and restructures have been handled
- All 5th year options have been added to players who had their option exercised
- All rookies in the 2020 draft and 2021 draft(including compensatory picked players) have been drafted to the correct teams at the correct draft spots
*Compensatory picked players have retroactively had their player cards adjusted to show where they were drafted in real life
- All UDFA's have been signed to their correct teams with the standard UDFA 3 year contract
- All updated team uniforms and logos in real life have been replicated in this mod
- Moved the Raiders to Las Vegas and updated stadiums for the Raiders and Chargers/Rams
- All player ratings match EA's official Madden 21 ratings
- Scouting points no longer decay after simming weeks (you don't have to 'use them or lose them')
- You can now scout as early as week 1 (instead of week 3)
- All players on the Covid Opt Out list have been played on IR, and their injury reason displays as 'Covid-19 Opt Out'
- Completely rebranded Washington as the Washington Football team, and we've included an optional Washington Warriors mod which turns the WFT into the Warriors at any point, courtesy of JarekNT and CRBiv14 (read the readme in the download for more info)
- The news/tweets section is updated by me with each release

VERSION 4.9 CHANGELOG

Start Today FBmod:
- Added a brand new Aaron Donald Splashscreen (Credit to Hey Stack)
- Added 3D Alternate Logos for over 20 teams; ALL NFL teams now have alternate logos (These alt logos appear in the Trade Screen, Supersim, etc)

Franchise File:
- Added in the entire 2021 NFL Regular Season schedule, including 17 games for each team
NOTE: To make this work, Preseason week 4 games were moved, and the Week 15 games from real life were spread across weeks 6-14.
Based on how this was done, some teams will play games for 17 weeks in a row, and some teams will have a bye week but have one week with two games to play
- All rosters are accurate as of 5/21/20
- Updated several contracts, including newly signed rookie deals
- Updated several player numbers (There are still many unknown player numbers; these will continue to be updated)

VERSION 4.8 CHANGELOG

VERSION 4.5 CHANGELOG

- Created OVER 400 new players in the Franchise file (These players are mostly missing long snappers/Practice Squad players who didn't already exist)
- Updated OVER 1200 contracts, making salaries for each team as ACCURATE as possible (HUGE credit to Toxzon)
- All rosters are accurate as of 3/17/21 at 4pm CST
NOTE: PS/Future Contract players are all free agents for now, to further encourage the CPU to sign players in free agency;
All FA signings with year-by-year data are accurate, while signings without data are generic for now; These contracts will be retroactively updated in future updates
- Set the Salary Cap to 193.5m and cleared most cap penalties to make each team's spending money more realistic
*NOTE: The cap is 10m above real life in order to account for things such as Rollover Cap, which isn't in Madden
WITH THAT SAID, we'd recommend NOT using the Franchise Logic mod for the 2021 offseason, as it actually DECREASES FA signings due to the lower salary cap
- Updated year-by-year salary cap increases for future years
- Removed the TFG Alternate Franchise File (due to outdated ratings)

VERSION 4.4 CHANGELOG

I appreciate the kind words, with that said there's no way to implement training camp as a mod with how Madden is designed. With that said you'd definitely want to use TDawg's progression tool for more realistic progression, as well as Sabo's CFM Revival mod (included in the download) because his changes to morale makes performance matter in the short term in terms of ratings boosts.

Very rough thoughts, I have to see if this is possible:
reduce Tdawg's tool to 10-40% XP
Developing suitable XP sliders
Use the tool as training camp in the off-season

Really thinking of downloading this, I'd love to continue M20 because it seems like M21 will suck and no modding available.

How would I modify the mod to undo these changes? Or at least modify the end zone text. Does this have to be done on all 31 fields?

And PLEASE I'm not asking for (nor will I debate) anyone's opinion of why they should or should not be there. I'm merely asking for technical instructions.

I have no response to this, but JarekNT, my main partner in this project, does:

"Hi! I'm the modder who worked on these specific changes. All of these changes were done by hand, one by one, including adding the true-to-life representations of all clubs and NFL fields. This would mean to remove them you would have to go into the mod file and replace the field texture files of all 32 NFL teams.

As far as Washington goes, unfortunately, I went out of my way to scrub every trace of the old R*dskins logo out of the game. It would take you quite a long time to put everything back. I couldn't even tell you where to begin.

Assuming you have limited/no experience modding Madden NFL 20, it would be close to impossible for you to remove all of these changes without step-by-step help, which nobody who worked on the project would be inclined to provide.

hmm, he answered it all... but again: You can open the mod with Frosty Editor and change everything - if you know how - it is not easy and requires Photoshop knowledge. No one will give you a step by step guide that you will probably need if you don't know anything about it - that's what Sinthros/JarekNT said.
And please leave such comments if you don't want a discussion about your initial topic. Otherwise we could talk about how far the fight against racism can be bad. I am German and know very well what it can lead to.

No one here cares what you think politically or that you're somehow offended by the WFT not going by a literal racial slur anymore. The mod is called Start Today, not 'Put racist symbols back in the game/take unifying symbols out so that some guy named Servo75 is happy.' Like I told you before, the project file is in the download, but I want you off my thread.

First, I wasn't talking to you. I was responding only to jay87. Second, this is not YOUR thread. Third, when did you try to be nice? As I explained from the very beginning, all I was asking for was technical information. Very simple. I never said anything about being offended, I never gave any political views, I tried to say as little as possible because I knew something like this would happen. Read my original post. I specifically said several times that I did NOT want to make this about politics, and you took a simple conversation about how to make specific changes to a mod and blew it completely out of proportion. If I had asked, how do I change this uniform, or "I really liked the 100 year sticker", this would be an entirely different conversation. I asked how to make a change that you didn't think should be made. That's it.I have been nothing but polite to this point, going out of my way NOT to bring up politics, even going so far as to say I understand the changes you made and agreed that realism was important! All XP sliders are set to 0 by default because it's setup to be used with TDawgs Progression Tool, which you can find in these forums or in the discords I linked. Basically it's a more dynamic version of Madden 12's potential system. It requires excel and the franchise editor. If you don't want to use it, simply set all xp sliders back to 100 in the file.
