Can someone please explain how players are eligible in real life but not in the game? Is there a fix to make them eligible?

They changed the rule this year in the NFL making it 16 players...
The 16 can consist of...
Any number of players who have not accrued at least nine games in an NFL season.
Up to four players who have accrued no more than two NFL seasons.
Up to six players with no limitations on experience.
I believe Madden still simply has the rule that they need less that 2 years or less of NFL experience. I haven't checked yet but I don't even know if they expanded it again this year like they did last year. -

They've had the rule that you can have a few players with more experience than 2 years for several years now, I think since COVID started, maybe even before. Super annoying that Madden still hasn't changed it in their franchise mode. Not surprising, but annoying.Comment

Ya they haven’t changed it in a couple years even though the NFL changed it during the pandemic, I think. Whenever they update the Franchise week thing with live rosters, they usually place the actual players, no matter their year in the league, on the practice squad where they belong.Comment

This is my 1st year back since maybe 99-00 & some things never change lol. I get it everyone has their way of playing the game.. I don't play online or the other game options.. just Franchise & control all teams & I am roster OCD. They add alot of pointless bells & whistles, but forget to add a realism feature? That is just puzzling & one would think a roster developer could put this on their list to fix. They patch everything else. 20 years & still have to use roster work arounds lol.Comment

Not too mention the legacy issue of having a limit on number of free agents. The lower rated folks disappear when released into FA. So you end up having to recreate them. How this limit still exists on next gen is beyond me. It’s been an issue since PS3. It’s crazy.Comment

In order to minimise the effect of these limits , and have the ability to create and retain as many genuine PS players I have a yearly routine at the beginning of my franchise .
1) manually delete ALL Lsers , by changing them to positions where the have a very low overall , such as punter .... ( this may not suit some 'sim' players but as LSers serve no purpose in the game and are cut by CPU teams anyway , I find the ' sacrifice ' useful as it also opens up a roster slot for each team which helps offset the lack of PUP , SUS etc which otherwise compound the numbers game of trying to make accurate rosters)
2) using the same method go through the default FA list removing any player who weren't on a training camp roster , who didn't play the previous season or have publicly retired , or occasionally overwriting them to a PS veteran player not in the game by default , if their details are close .
This results in a more ' realistic' FA pool to start my franchise albeit not 100% perfect .
By my estimates this year , if I am to add around 100 UDFAs it will be necessary to remove around 450 - 500 players by this methodArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon .... I believe OL Matt Gono has also been forced to retire due to injury, however it seems 'retirement' in the NFL is sometimes not final even when announced publicly.
Technically I believe players employed in other leagues should be removed from the game for legal reasons , however these players too occasionally get signed later in the year , or after their particular league has finished .

Agree a no limit FA pool would def help! IMO they put too much emphasis on the online stuff, they rarely works.. and again I havent played the game in close to 20 years, but these little special perks (I dont even know how to explain) like player special abilities is just pointless. I dont pay attention to extra junk like that, their ratings is plenty enough. If they would pay less attention to junk like that & more around realism, this game could be so much better.Comment
