after this recent patch, QB traits are working just fine without the previous workarounds

If I were to do the trait fix, I would be forced to revert the changes at a later time after the issues have been patched. Personally, I might hold off on the trait edits until the game is working as intended.

I think editing the traits now based on how they are intended to be will be fine. They will be fixed eventually, and even now, it is possible that adjusting or turning off the accelerated clock in Franchise mode alleviates at least some of the QB bug.

I'm trying to do a 32 team control and when I try using the rosters, the CPU will do all sorts of Practice Squad and other roster signings before I'm able to take control of the other 31 teams. Is there any way to fix this from happening?

Not that I know of. If you start right off the bat controlling all teams, the CPU shouldn't make any changes unless you do it yourself (assuming you have all set to Manual and not Auto).
