My first run with the playbooks I think will work resulted in the average run/pass ratio to being exactly what it was in 1994.

Tomorrow I will run probably 2 more sims to really make sure these are the playbooks I will recommend. Then I will post them here either tomorrow of Friday. I am busy on Thursday so I will not be on at all.
The roster looks amazing as always. I love the rating system you use. I am developing a special retro roster slider set on All-Madden for your 1987 and 1994 rosters.

Great work as always and thanks for this. I am looking forward to your head coach/scheme/playbook list!!!

Re: Madden 18 1994 Roster

Attached is a PDF for the coaches and playbooks for this roster.

I ran 3 simmed seasons with these playbooks and the sim results were very good in terms of run/pass ratio. The average difference was less than 1 percent. Of course some teams were +or- 2 to 5 percent. Teams do adjust based on injuries as well. For instance in one sim Barry Sanders went down to injury and the playcalling for the Lions was more pass oriented than the 2 season where he was healthy.

These playbooks are the ones I used for testing the roster in terms of gameplay. The results there were good as well. These playbooks do not have any pistol formation, with the exception of the RunNShoot for the Falcons.

Let me know if something seems off or is not working for you.
I think I have determined that I will be playing through a season in Play Now games. The game play is solid, I can keep track of stats, injuries, etc... Also, I do not have to worry about the CPU making strange roster moves or anything.

In a side note... I noticed that Jay Cutler tries to show up in CFM. Be on the look out for him. If he shows up, just edit him and release him.

I might still do the 2002 roster. I have it started. Right now I am going to take a break from roster making (my wife calls it "rostering"). It is so time consuming and at time laborious. However, I might come back to it. I cannot promise it though.

Re: Madden 18 1994 Roster

Just wanted to let everyone know where I am on the playbooks.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am planning on not using CFM for this roster. I will be playing through the actual 94 season and keeping my own stats, injuries, standings, etc.

I have done this on previous Maddens as well and one of the reasons is the ability to use custom playbooks without some odd workaround.

So, I am working on playbooks to mimic the styles of 1994. I will NOT make a playbook for each, it is not necessary. Instead, I will have a few playbooks which reflect the varying styles.

Currently I have made the following:
File name: 90s2TE: This set is exactly what is says, mostly 2 TE formations with some additional formations to flesh out the playbook for specific situations. This playbook is best used for the following teams: Cardinals, Broncos, Lions, Vikings, Saints, Giants, Eagles and Chargers

File Name: 90s3WR: This playbook is based on formations which utilize a single back and three WRs. This is the Bills and Oilers. Again, other formations are used for various situations.

File Name: 90sbase: This is a relatively balanced offense with mostly two back sets. There are a variety of formations and plays in this playbook. The bulk of the 94 teams can use this playbook. However, it is meant for the following: Bears, Browns, Seahawks, Buccaneers. I believe the following teams would have be well represented by this playbook: Bengals, Raiders, Rams, Dolphins, Patriots, Jets, Redskins. Even West Coast offensive teams could use this roster, but I plan on building that one.

Playbooks to be made:
West Coast: The EA version of the West Coast is not really the West Coast offense of the 1990s. Mine will use as close as possible formations (some are no longer in the game though) and rely on short passes; slants, outs, screens, etc... Also the FB will be prominent in this playbook. Teams who will use this playbook: 49ers, Chiefs, Packers

Run Dominated: This playbook will feature a greater emphasis on running the football and playaction passes. Mostly 2 back formations, similar to the base playbook, but with the plays rated a little differently. Teams using this playbook will be: Steelers, Cowboys, Colts

RunNShoot/ RunNGun: This will be the Atlanta Falcons, the only RnS holdover. 4 wide receiver formations with an emphasis on the pass. Run plays will be mostly draws, dives and stretch plays.

Re: Madden 18 1994 Roster

Love the roster set. Given my handle, Im pretty sure you can guess why I have an extreme love for the 1994 season. Being able to play with the last super stacked Niner team is really fun. Is gonna be really fun keeping Deion and Ricky on the team for more than just the one year.

I just wish madden would unlock the old Bill Walsh playbook from madden 25 and let us build a custom playbook from it. It would just be too perfect being able to craft a true 90s Niner WCO with all the split forms, near forms and far forms.

Anyways, absolutely stellar roster.

Re: Madden 18 1994 Roster

I have uploaded the other playbooks on Madden Share

90sRunNShoot
90sWC (west coast)
90sRUNBAL

I also edited the others a bit to help with CPU playcalling a bit more.
