If you went in to edit a player that is a bug that happens

Don't edit a downloaded class. I learned that through some test runs before starting my franchise mode.

The best thing I can suggest is start an offline "dummy" franchise. Download a class you like, edit it, then "Export" to save the file. When you go into your main franchise mode, just open it up and play with the file you saved from the "dummy".

It's a bit tedious but if your a stickler for having control on appearance, ratings, etc., that's the best way to do this until EA patches a fix to edit.
