This may be your best roster to date Percussion.

This season is when my fantasy football craziness was at it’s peak.

Once we got to 2010 and beyond my love for the NFL faded really fast.

This was a great year. So many interesting teams here. I remember Ahman Green and how dynamic he was.

So many great RB’s in this set:

Jamal Lewis
Shaun Alexander
Ahman Green
Priest Holmes
Ricky Williams
Corey Dillion
Warrick Dunn
Travis Henry
Curtis Martin
The Edge
Faulk

To name a few...

I understand what you mean about losing enthusiasm for the modern NFL. I still watch football a lot, but I often find myself watching older games as I just think the game was better in the 90s and earlier.

2002 was an interesting season for me. I was in the Army at the time and stationed in Georgia so I rarely go to watch my Browns, and of course that is the ONLY year they made the playoffs since 1999. I did get to watch the Atlanta game that got the Browns into the playoffs though, and of course the horrible Steelers game in the playoffs.

You are right, lots of good runningbacks then. Manning, solidly in his career was becoming a legend throwing to Marvin Harrison who had 143 receptions that year! That is a record.

It is funny, when I started this roster a long time back, I was excited to do it, but then lost it and moved to other things. Once I decided to go back to it, I have really enjoyed it and I think it plays very nicely.

Yes Manning to Marvin was lethal. And they had Wayne on the other side as a rookie! And we know how his career turned out too.

Hey, I’d just like to say thanks for the roster. I will definitely be downloading it soon, but is this the season where the patriots won their first SuperBowl or the year the buccaneers won? Because technically the 2002 season was the season of the 2003 superbowl wasn’t it? Lol I hope my question makes sense. If you know the answer I’d appreciate it if you let me know

The 2002 season's superbowl was played in 2003 and it was the Buccaneers winning over the Raiders.

So this roster is that season, the Buccaneers crazy awesome defense and Jon Gruden beating his old team.

I hope you enjoy the roster!

I have not posted the roster to MaddenShare yet, but the teams are all complete. I am working on the Free agents right now. I did not say anything about the roster or post it in parts because I wanted to make sure I was going to get it finished.

Some info about the roster: If you are familiar with my previous rosters, this is more of the same. Equipment is correct, ratings are based on stats, knowledge, gameplay, and simmed stats. So, QBs are lower rated than default Madden, but trust me they play appropriately. The sims stats will be outstanding. If you want more info on my ratings, feel free to ask and I will explain the best I can.

Note: Though some players are still in the league from 2002, such as Tom Brady, I decided to NOT use there already existing version in the game. This might turn some away, but I made the decision that since everyone else used a "stand-in" I wanted the whole roster to work that way. This also allowed me to get their age and experience more accurate for those playing in CFM.

I hope to be able to post the roster either late tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday. I need to write a couple chapters for Master's Thesis today and tomorrow and with tomorrow being Father's Day I have family events part of the day.

This is pretty freaking awesome. I'm give this a download this evening. I love the historical rosters and being able to replay with some of my favorite players.

Re: 2002 Roster

I've been using your classic rosters since NCAA 14's 1995 season! I'm wondering what your plans are for Madden 19 since they now allow people to create and share draft classes. Will you be doing that at all? What seasons do you want to recreate for the regular roster?

Thanks for all the hard work!!!
