In play now CPU vs CPU, do I need to use 2 controllers like you do in CFM?

I don't use 2 controllers. I am not sure if there is a benefit of doing that in Play Now or not. I always suspect that with one controller, one of the team's playbooks reverts to a team specific book even though you have a custom book loaded in the Profile, or assign it when selecting teams.

I can't prove it, but I have seen plays run that are not even in my playbook. I think using 2 controllers might solve that issue. To be honest, Tommy, Don, or Iteachpercussion may have more insight into this than I do.

Yes, I always use two controllers for Play Now games. I have a second profile that I download all of my playbooks to and have my sliders set the same as my main profile.

It seems to work and the CPU uses the plays in the custom playbook as well as the playcalling is mostly based on how I rated the situations. I say mostly because in certain situations you can still see the CPU use shotgun plays that are not rated and cannot be removed from the playbook. It does not happen every game, but it does happen. Usually the end of the half and end of the game.

So far, using my 1980 rosters with my custom 1980s balanced playbook and my 6070s offensive playbook, I am seeing a lot of running. I recently had 2 games where the CPU ran 66% of the time!

The process and having to use 2 controllers is ridiculous, but necessary if you want the CPU to play correctly.

I hope that helps.

I am not certain about this ---- but it is my belief that only 1 controller is needed to successfully use any Non Custom Playbooks but 2 controllers are required to use Custom Playbooks. At least that is how it has appeared to be for me thus far.

I think you still need 2 controllers, but the second one can be logged in as "guest"

I am not 100% sure, but that is the only way I can get them to work.

Thanks for correcting me ...... You are right --- I don't use just 1 controller but rather just log in as Guest with my 2nd controller ....... not sure what made me think of using only 1 controller in my previous post ..... sometimes get confused between how I play Madden with how I play MLB The Show I reckon !!! Thanks Iteach ..........

Playing around with it tonight and even with 2 controllers, once you move them to center for CPU vs CPU the playbooks seem to revert back to whatever teams you have selected? If you use 2, set playbooks then press "ready" for both teams might allow you to keep selected playbooks. Once in the game go to controller select and place both in middle. However you must manually play the kickoff.

From my experiences & help from others it is necessary to keep them on each side then prior to Kickoff go to select teams and set them both in the middle ..... execute the kickoff as you would in a 2 player controlled game and after that the game proceeds as a CPU vs CPU game.
