Re: Madden 20: Classic Rosters, .... Is it worth it ?

How is Madden 18, for classic rosters?

How are:

*Simulation Stats

*Run/Pass ratio and HB carry distribution

*Are Classic play books still in there

*Does Super yield realistic results

*Last time I really played, was Madden 17, and things were fine back then. I would play Madden 18 like I play MLB: The Show. More like a text simulation, like it was OOTP.

I would play be cpu a bit, but would not be so concerned with gameplay, as I am with replicating statistics and W/L.

Thx

So few questions.

1. If your editing a roster and there are only 80 players with these super star abilities, would it be worth it to x all those out, and basically have the full roster play out as it has been set up on previous maddens, I mean cause I dont really think anyone can argue the game play is top notch in 20 and by that measure if the 80 were completely edited out and just went off regular ratings setup wouldn't that make it better?

2. I get the whole play now vs cfm deal and to be honest I'm fine with either way, my biggest gripe with 19 was the super line backers and the lack of custom playbooks and uniforms in play now.

3. It does seem like most the deep dive issues, still plague the game, controller method would still be the same even in play now, are custom playbooks even usuable in play now? Fo the uniforms actually stick?

4. Editing players are you editing the abilities of those 80 players in play now? Are you leaving them alone and just placing them in free agency and not using them?

5. Playbooks added to this year's game makes a huge impact, in you guys opinion what year rosters would you all like to see that could make use of these books in game? Including the custom made and the classic made in game ones?

The reason I'm asking all of this is because I really dont want to put time into something that is not going to be used by the community, I'd rather spend our time and efforts into making some solid foundations and strides towards having some great roster sets for everyone to enjoy.

In example of the mlb the show and nba 2k community's.

Yall let me know how ya feel.

I will try to go through each question from my perspective the best I can:

1. What I am experimenting with is removing the abilities. If you edit the players name, equipment, and ratings all of the abilities disappear. So, you do not have to not use the players, just edit them as you would anyone else. It has been working for me so far in testing things to this point. I agree, M20 in terms of gameplay on the field is really good. The only issue I am having is with the robo QB. However, I think that can be taken care of with QB ratings and perhaps the slider. I am testing several things in that regard.

2. For M19, I was able to get custom playbooks to work with no problem. Yes, they could be more organized, but they work. It is a pain to set up two profiles and use two controllers, but it is worth it for better gameplay and results for classic rosters.

3.I have not messed with the custom playbooks much with M20 yet, but I am going to start that process tomorrow. I expect it to be much the same as M19. The uniforms stick and the playbooks should stick with using two controllers. Again, a pain, but worth it in my opinion. I also like being able to set the weather in Play Now.

4. I think I answered that in #1.

5. I don't really have much of an answer for this question. While the new plays and such are great for modern NFL, they are not necessarily good for classic rosters unless you are making rosters in the 2000s.
When it comes to classic rosters I prefer anything from 1995 and before. I will occasionally play something in the early 2000s.

My current plan is to make a 1988 roster. I also plan on making a handful of playbooks to go with the roster. That is a year I have never made, but it was an interesting year. A great Super Bowl that year, 49ers and Bengals. The Browns went through QBs like crazy and somehow made the playoffs.

I hope that all helps at least a bit.

Well actually percussions that makes alot of since, my standard copy of the game is not available until the 2nd, however by all accounts we could technically create the rosters as per previous maddens, then the biggest worry would be playbooks and uniforms actually sticking in game.

For me in 19 custom books did not work, I even posted a video of the whole team jumbled up at the los. And it would basically freeze cfm when hitting the x, forcing you to close the entire game down.

I honestly think your on to something when it comes to play now, we can technically still track in game stats and depending how deep you really wanted to go with your season, you technically could find out real time weather, uniform details basically the whole 9.

So it sounds like playbooks is going to be key because last year we could use the teams playbooks and sorta mimic play styles "ie" single back formations - Ravens, with the new playbooks I dont think you can get that use anymore, so custom books will be very key!

If we can get a 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, even 2000s made, then have a mid 2008 for example that could start to implement today's books from 08 - Current I think that would give everyone a style sheet sorta speak.

Next thing would be uniforms, most should be in there, I'm gonna check in particular like Giants away, Redskins away, Tampa Bay Buccaneers away, last year there were no set whites for them.

Please let me know about those playbooks or if you even think that's something possible this year, with the game play this game is showing, we really need to bring some sets to this game.

My dream set for 20 play now would be

1972
1985
1988 or 89
1990
1992
1994
1995
1996
1997
1998
1999
2000
2002
2004
2006

Obviously big dream, but kinda realistic if your just editing, names, attributes and equipment. And since it wouldn't be set in a cfm standard you technically could draw up your own spread sheets for stats etc from an assortment of websites.

Mr. Percussion:

Can you give us the low-down on run/pass ratio, and play books. Is it possible to play in CFM more. And ratings spikes, is it possible. Oh, are plays per game between 120-130 a game.

Thank you.
