Re: Playmakers Classic 90s Roster for Xbox One

UPDATE (Final Team Completed will add 100+ FA's from the 90"s era to the file later)

1998 New York Jets (82 overall)

TOP Rated Players

RB Curtis Martin 90
C Kevin Mawae 90
WR Keyshawn Johnson 89 XFACTOR-Double Me
LB Mo Lewis 89
LB Marvin "Shade Tree" Jones 87

The team improved on its previous season by three games, finishing 12–4 in their second season under head coach Bill Parcells, winning their first division title since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970; the 12–4 record was also the best in Jets history. This success came just two years after the Jets’ 1–15 record in 1996.

Their attempt to reach their first Super Bowl in thirty years was halted by losing in Denver when the 14–2 Broncos scored 23 unanswered points in the second half.

The 1998 Jets are one of only two teams in NFL history to win seven games against teams that would go on to make the playoffs.

Vinny Testaverde threw for 3,256 yards, 29 touchdowns, and only 7 interceptions in 421 pass attempts (1.7%).

His top targets Wr's Keshawn Johnson (83-1131) and Wayne Chrebet (75-1033) each topped the 1000 yard mark on the season.

Testaverde and Johnson were joined in the Pro bowl by RB Curtis Martin, LB Mo Lewis & CB Aaron Glenn.

Re: Playmakers Classic 90s Roster for Xbox One

A DECADE TO REMEMBER: THE NFL IN THE ’90s

The Gulf War…Beanie Babies…the Internet.

All are symbolic of life in the 1990s, the last decade of the millennium.

NFL fans will remember the ’90s for "Wide right"…"The Triplets"…2,000 yards…and "This one’s for John."

The decade will be remembered by players, coaches and fans for great teams…outstanding players…and memorable milestones.

The Dallas Cowboys became the first team to win three Super Bowls in four years. The Denver Broncos made a run at a perfect season in 1998 before winning their second consecutive Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins also won Super Bowls (the 49ers also won the 1989 Super Bowl, which was played in January 1990).

DAN MARINO became the all-time passing leader. JERRY RICE became the league’s all-time leading receiver and touchdown scorer. TERRELL DAVIS and BARRY SANDERS each rushed for over 2,000 yards in a single season.

Re: Playmakers Classic 90s Roster for Xbox One

Hey check out the free agent QBs so far

Most of them are guys who didn't pan out in the nfl but it helps to keep the qb position overall in the 90's really weak if you don't got a stud like Elwaybor Young already on your roster.

Heath Shuler
Ryan Leaf
Tim Couch
Dan McGwire
Akili Smith
Cade McNown
Todd Marinovich
Rick Mirer
Tommie Frazier
Craig Erickson
Danny Wuerffel
Michael Bishop

Only a few guys on the free agent list that you could plug in as a starter

Culpepper
Flutie
Garcia
George
Everette
McNabb
Chris Miller

Also for all the free agent QBs I started a new formula for accuracy based on my old qb chart from madden 10 or 11 I believe.

I remember doing one of my brief conversations with EA guy back at that time they use accuracy based on overall completion %

Back then they had just one accuracy rating compared to now where you get short, medium and long.

But it's still easy to do based on the formula they used.

90 rating = 70% Completion rate
85 rating = 65% Completion rate
80 Rating = 60% Completion rate
75 Rating = 55% Completion Rate
70 Rating = 50% Completion Rate

So for example when you apply that formula to let's say Ryan Leaf who had a career completion % of just 49% his 3 accuracy rating would look something like this in the game in order to keep him near that percentage

Short 68
Mid 67
Deep 72

Add up the 3 ratings 68 + 67 + 72 = 207

207 ÷ 3 = 69

69 on the accuracy chart equals 49% Completion

The short, medium and long rating is based on each QBs strength and weaknesses

I gave Leaf his best accuracy rating of 72 for the deep ball because he was a big strong dude.

I then tested 4 different games vs Leaf on Madden 20 with default 50 qb accuracy and sure enough he looked awful he completion percentages of 56, 47, 52 and 54 percentage.

Ironically he still hit on a number of short throws but his mid range passes were a thing of beauty seeing how they were slightly off target for the wrs to catch.

Now I only tested this on Pro bowl level my gut feeling is this will still work on All Pro and All Madden but chances are the percentages will probably go up a little on each level because of the ratings boost each level gives to the CPU players

But I can definitely live with Ryan Leaf having his highest completion % of 56 out of the 4 test games with those ratings I assigned him.

This was CPU vs CPU play btw and I only gave him 50 awareness which probably helped lol

I’ll never forget that run he made in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida when he run through, around, and over not only the Gators, but some of his own players.
