After doing some additional testing, I think the game plays better at ALL-PRO, and I think I figured out a way to minimize interceptions at that skill level. Changes to sliders appear in BOLD in original post.

If you don't use CPU vs CPU, you may be able to use the CPU portion of the sliders to help create a more realistic game for you.

Check out an example game played out using these sliders below. A close game that went into overtime. The Saints were able to shut down the Panther's run game - but Kamara went off. Some nice runs by Kamara in this one.

    Hope these help someone!

Keeping an eye on your thread! Will give these a try tomorrow with my trial time I got left. I would Love to dive into CPU vs CPU this year. Are you just controlling one team or doing a 32 Man? Also, are you using owners or coaches?

I just GM one team, and slow-sim the games in presentation mode. It’s also easier to alter the game correctly without a human element added to the on-field play. Let me know when you get a chance to try them out!

I’ve been doing a 32-team CPU vs CPU league. Two things are jumping out right now. Way too many INTs, as you alluded to, and I’m finding no way to stop it. Also, the read option is broken. The QB keeps every time. I’ve had to change playbooks for the Ravens and 49ers, so far, to avoid their QBs getting 20+ carries per game. Are you seeing good results with your running game? I have Run Blocking at 100, tackling at 55, and I’m still not seeing many teams go over 4.0 yards/carry. I’m going to try tackling to 50 after seeing this, but I’m just hoping it doesn’t lead to too many big plays in the pass game with Pass Acc elevated and Coverage/Reaction lowered to try to limit picks. Other than that, we’ve arrived at pretty similar settings. Can’t wait to see yours evolve over the next few weeks.

So far I am seeing varying results with the run game. If you see the example game I posted on you tube, Kamara had a 100+ yard game. However, I am still testing, as I am using 4 different teams to test with, and sometimes it seems the running game can really struggle. It seems like there is more variance from 1 game to another- which isn’t a bad thing, it just makes it harder to test slider adjustments.

Thanks for the work. Curious if you looked into player traits, specifically QB traits.

Progressive fatigued on or off matter for cpu v cpu gameplay?

My goal is to not have to modify the player traits. I am currently testing with progressive fatigue ON, but may end up turning it off if it’s still a problem like last year.

Don't rush yourself, the major free agency bug has put things on hold for anyone really starting a franchise. Maybe a 32 control can help the bug but I just like doing offline managing just one team and watching the games playout

Re: ShaneTheMaster’s Madden 23 NextGen CPU vs CPU Slider Set

Another update! Summary and rationale for key changes:

                    1. Continued to lower pass defense reaction time and coverage to minimize interceptions. This is the craziest amount I have ever had to modify the sliders, hopefully they fix this bug - and I do think it is a bug with some new logic they added that is ignoring the interception slider. Only getting about 2 interceptions per game (both teams) on average now.

                    2. To account for softer coverage, I raised the Min. Speed Threshhold to 65. This bring players closer together in the secondary. This brings down passing yardage. Can't go much higher than this, without borking timing plays, such as screen passes.

                    3. Raised Fumbling slider, as they were still too many fumbles. Ordinarily, we can live with this, except that the CPU returns 80% of fumbles for touchdowns. It is in a good place now, although, ideally I would have this a little lower if the CPU would just fall on more loose balls.

                    4. Lowered tackling slightly for human and CPU, and slightly raised run blocking (CPU only) to help out with the CPU run game.

                    5. Switched passing type to Classic, to test if the new passing controls were causing the interceptions, but it appears it is not related. But testing these sliders was done with Classic passing mode - not sure if the CPU uses the new passing mechanic internally or not.

Look for another sample game to be posted shortly!

I play like you w CPU vs CPU. Wow the interceptions, I can’t figure out how to get them normalized. I’m at 0 with the slider but seeing about 2 per QB per game regardless of QB. I hope they patch it as I really like the game otherwise.

Wow, just live streamed a game where we had ZERO interceptions the entire game! Not sure if it was a fluke or not, but all I did was disable the superstar abilities. Will be running another test.

                          Stats:

                          Bengals 27, Saints 13

                          Passing:
                          Burrow 27/33 286yds , 2 TD 0 INT
                          Winston 25/35 271yds, 1 TD 0 INT

                          Rushing:
                          Mixon 23-115
                          Kamara 12-39

Update: Verified that it’s the superstar abilities that is causing the interception slider to not be useful. Since I turned the superstar abilities OFF, I have had only 1 interception in the last 10 quarters of simming! I will now be re-tweaking the sliders with this accommodation.

I play cpu vs cpu. Never had superstar abilities on at all. INT slider is set at 0. I’m still seeing a ton of INTs. So I don’t think superstar abilities have anything to do with it. Personally i think the slider is not working and that the only fix is going to be in a patch. But I have little faith that it will come.
