Goals of my sliders:
1. Used for CPU vs CPU only
2. Produce good, quality stats
3. Fun to watch
The penalty sliders have long been discussed. We have complained about how penalties aren't called often enough. We have also talked about how they can drastically affect gameplay if certain penalties are tweaked this way or that. And penalties have always seemed totally random with no clear sign of which types of players accrue more of them. SO, my solution is to shut penalties OFF! Since they were always random anyway and seemed to negatively affect facets of gameplay, I have now set all penalties to zero or turned them to off....YES, every single one of them. This has definitely improved my gameplay viewing and stats during games.
I'm not an expert at this but I know what I want out of Madden, and I feel this slider set is darn close to achieving that. Please try them out but definitely watch AT LEAST 8 games before deciding if they are trash or treasure.
Watching 1 or 2 games doesn't always give the clearest picture of the slider quality.
Here we go:
All-Pro
12 minutes with 20 second Accelerated Clock
OR
15 minutes with 11 second Accelerated Clock (both give accurate number of plays but a few Delay of Game penalties are called with this clock setup)
Injuries 25
Fatigue 50 (I have not done much with fatigue or changed Auto Subs at this time)
Player Speed Threshold 50
Ballhawk = OFF
Heat Seeker = OFF
Home Field Advantage = OFF
Superstar Abilities = OFF
Progressive Fatigue = OFF
CPU sliders (no need to change Human sliders):
QB Accuracy: 0 (Still get really good Completion percentage, plus bad throws, plus drops)
Pass Blocking: 50
Wide Receiver Catching: 50
Run Block: 50
Ball Security: 50
Pass Defense Reaction Time: 50
INT: 16
Pass Coverage: 50
Tackling: 50
Special Teams (not sure if these affect much yet)
FG Power: 50
FG Accuracy: 50
Punt Power: 50
Punt Accuracy: 50
Kickoff Power: 50
Penalties
Offside: 0
False Start 0
Holding 0
Face Mask 0
Defensive Pass Interference 0
Offensive Pass Interference: OFF
Kick Catch Interference: OFF
Illegal Block in the Back: 0
Intentional Grounding: OFF
Roughing the Passer 0
Roughing the Kicker: OFF
Running into the Kicker: OFF
Illegal Contact OFF
Observations:
1. Excellent, fun games to watch
2. Sacks are up and down from game to game as expected
3. Quarterbacks will throw the ball away instead of taking sacks all the time (rarely ever a screen sack!)
4. Saw a beautiful one handed catch by Justin Jefferson that was pure awesomeness
5. Quarterbacks will scramble AND throw deep from time to time
6. There are definitely missed tackles
7. Most stats are very good over the course of a season as compared with the real NFL
I know we're all looking for that perfect slider set....it doesn't exist! So, you may find these as to be fantastic or maybe not your cup of tea. But I hope at least a few of you enjoy these! I'll make changes/updates to these sliders if I see anything to make them better (i.e. Special Teams, Fatigue). But I plan on leaving the Penalties off!
Who needs 'em! Ha!
