Slider affects on other sliders

I want this topic to be a thread on what affects sliders have on each other and the game. After reading through countless posts, I found you all have found different nuggets of knowledge. Please share what you have found. This could help us on making better slider sets.

Personally, I am still trying to find the sweet spot in sliders but everytime I fix one problem, the "fix" seems to then make something else broken in the game.

Re: Slider affects on other sliders

-Pass Blocking slider also affect the Pass Catching slider. A Higher Pass Blocking slider means less dropped passes.

-Tackle slider also affects the FG Power slider. A Lower Tackle slider means weaker FG power.

-Intentional Grounding Penalty slider... If it is lowered to 1, then the CPU QB won't be afraid to throw it away, which in turn could avoid a sack. Usually the IG slider lowered to 1 means the QB wont hold on to the ball as long.

Re: Slider affects on other sliders

Viperreturn posted this on a different thread...

Off-sides 66 high = d-line quicker off the snap, AI almost never flagged at any setting
False Start 55 high = o-line quicker off snap, too high & there's a lot of false starts
Holding 50 high = o-line holds their block longer, too high and there are too many penalties
Face Mask 50 = higher increases everyone's POW (unconfirmed), increases facemask animation and calls (confirmed)
Def Pass Int 1 = def plays less aggressive at high settings, does nothing more often (100% confirmed no joke)
Off Pass Int 1 = wr play less aggressive at high settings, don't try to get passes (100% confirmed no joke)
Punt Catch Int 50 = higher makes all defenders attack the ball more on all plays, penalties do increase on returns
Clipping 25 = lower increases blockers attempts at blocking, especially on punts and plays downfield (unconfirmed)
Int Grounding 1 = lower makes qb get rid of the ball quicker, higher makes them hold the ball longer and take more sacks. (confirmed by kcsam's testing results 12/20/2013)
Roughing Pass 25 = lower increases defenders attempt to get to the QB, i.e. pass rush (somewhat confirmed)
Roughing Kick 1 = lower increases defenders attempt to tackle any ball carrier (I canít confirm this to be 100%)

I know I'm totally in the minority on this one aspect, but if you're bored/interested, try def PI/off PI at 72/71. Everyone thinks u get more aggressive play at 0 or 1, but I really think it's often the difference between the 2. And, at higher pass interference settings, u actually get physical play during a play/route. The animations aren't amazing, but u can actually 'feel' the players bumping into each other and jostling for position on pass plays. This, to me, is more 'aggressive' play and with def simply 1 slider point higher, the DB will be right on the WRs butt most of the time and will be able to swat more passes. I also have int in the 40s. 40-45 isn't too bad. With those PI settings, mixed with int at 46-50, u will see too many picks. Anyways, trying to spread the word on PI as I love it at 72/71 and really like the DB/WR play I see and definitely do not agree with others who say it's less agressive higher. In essence, the higher the PI setting, the more often it happens. Now, the game never seems to actually call the penalty very often, but in effect, the players bump into each other more often on routes leading me to say that they are playing more aggressive.

Hanky, in your post, you said you will see too many picks. Either that is a typo on your part or I am confused by why would you want too many picks?

I was just trying to add what I've got INTs at as that affects coverage, ball swatting, etc. at int 43, and def PI/off PI at 72/71, u should see quality coverage and swatted balls and some INTs. At int 47, and 72/71, u may see too many INTs. There, u would see too many picks. I do NOT want to see that many picks. So, I guess I'm saying if u try 72/71, make sure your int is 43 as opposed to 50. That's an overall suggestion, I guess, and not tied to pass interference, necessarily, but because all of these are connected, I feel the need to throw all sliders out there because I can't guarantee that it is simply the pass interference settings giving me the proper animations. Lol, sorry for the long explanation, sliders are a complex mystery. I probably should've simply said, try 72/71.

Re: Slider affects on other sliders

Thanks MrHanky. I will change my PI sliders and see what happens. I am hoping this will cause CPU passing Pct and INT's thrown to go down.

EA needs to come out with a manual for sliders. I never would have thought the Tackle Slider would adversely affect the FG power slider
