Re: OhMrHanky's 'Nother Slider Set - All-Pro, Penalties, and Auto-Subs

Long time fan of this site, first time posting. I tried your sliders out last night in my Raiders CFM and much to my surprise they were awesome.I usually play all madden slider sets but been using all pro slider sets laletly. I used all your settings except sub stuff. I usually don't mess with that. I won the game in overtime. Final score 30-27. Stats were spot on and I was enjoying the gameplay from beginning to end. Thank you very much for bringing madden back to life for me.I can't wait to play more tonight. These r really good. Happy gaming to all.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. If you play some more and find anything out of whack (run game, pass game, too many INTs, etc), feel free to post a question. I've been messing around with this year's sliders for awhile, and I usually have an idea of what to tweak depending on the problem.

Right on. I was curious about that. And, u were getting decent stats, I thought. Strangely, I'd say your offensive stats (both player and CPU) were maybe a little high but not out of reality, but u were also seeing good defense (too many sacks, too many INTs). I wonder if u play these in CFM, maybe you'd see less sacks? Not sure, just a thought. And, when playing play now, I highly recommend playing against the Seahawks d. If u can shred that, then these sliders are not for u. Once again, I will say that I have NEVER tried these in Play Now, so I'm not sure if there is truly a difference, but I've definitely seen posts from other slider set threads where people mentioned how different it plays from play now to CFM when they tweaked a particular slider.

Furthermore, a lot of the stats are out of whack. Far, far too many player sacks (I had 10), huge numbers of tackles for losses and for pancakes. I probably could have put up 50 points against the computer easily but I threw 4 ints (3 in the redzone) just messing about seeing how far I could push my luck throwing to receivers who were covered.

A curious thing happened. At some point during the second quarter, my HB Brown simply left the game although the commentators continued to say that he was the back (despite Jacobs clearly being the back). I think the auto-subs had something to do with this. I've never see it happen in the game before. Actually, the autosubs were very bad and half my team had done a stint at HB by the end. Individual stats will be affected by the players being rotated so often.

I know it's not the easiest task to make this damn game playable each year but I'm struggling to find positives regarding this set. Back to the drawing board I think.

lol, this is going to come off a little whiny, I know. But, I just looked at your stats for the first time. My previous posts were from my phone, and the stats didn't get seen. I want to point out a few things. 1. You went for it twice on fourth down and converted both. Were these legitimate? By that, I mean, would NY have gone for it on these fourth downs at whatever point in the game they were? This actually makes kind of a big difference with these sliders in a couple of ways. 1. Fatigue at 60 - you may have held onto the ball for longer than you would have if you had punted on those 4th downs. This completely would've worn down the defense making the overall game easier. This would have also screwed with autosubs some as well as holding onto the ball too long would then cause your offensive players to be a bit out of it, as well. Your time of possession was huge, so that definitely affects the autosubs. I do think the constant subbing of your RBs may have been caused by playing in 'Play Now.' I have NEVER seen THAT much rotation. lol. And, as far as team matchups are concerned, even though NY had a crap year, they are WAY better than the Titans, imo. lol. Fitzpatrick is garbage, and Johnson hasn't had a good year in the past 2-3 seasons. I don't know what their offensive line is all about, but i would assume the Giants Dline would be better than the Titans' Oline. That being said, 10 sacks is still huge, and this has been hard to iron out. So, for me, as far as the stats, they actually don't look bad to me. If you had punted on those 4th downs or gone for FGs (depending on your field position at the time), I think the overall stats would have been toned down some. I definitely suggest when trying out a new set of sliders to play against SEA. They have a quality mobile QB that 'shouldn't' take a lot of sacks and a quality RB, so u can see what their offense does. And, they obviously have a quality D, particularly in the pass coverage area, so u can get a better idea of what a quality team looks like. For me, these sliders are playing realistic, so when I play a garbage team, I whoop them. When I play a tough team, it's a tougher game. That to me is one of the most important things, seeing how a quality D plays against u. But, sliders are all about personal preference. I'll say it again, this post may have come off as 'whiny,' I really don't want it to be, but when trying to create a 'realistic', more 'sim' style set of sliders, while I don't advocate any 'house rules,' I guess one that is assumed by me is that u punt on 4th down when appropriate, even 4th and inches on your own 30 as an example. If you went for it both times with a 4th and 1 from the goaline, that's all good.

Both 4th downs were legitimate in that I was in or near their redzone on 4th and 1 and keeping their defence on the field and running clock was more important to me at that stage than 3 points. But even if they weren't realistic 4th down attempts, would that explain why the cpu offence was incapable of moving the ball or whether sacks and pancakes etc were so high, I don't think so. And would you be happy with sliders that fall apart if one team runs a play on 4th down? I wouldn't.

If I have some time, I will play them again in franchise mode as there may well be a difference in play there.
