Once your inside CFM you can not edit traits or ratings. All you can do is use XP to upgrade them. This is the premise of CFM since it's advent on Madden 13.

armor, does lowering the qb accuracy have a such an impact on whether qbs throw the ball more vertical?

It does to a degree....my goal is to find a balance for my taste. I want them going down field but i also don't want laser pin point accuracy. I have found at 10 i am getting both. Teams typically take 2-4 shots down field...sometimes they only go deep once or twice. Every game is different.

Everyone should fiddle around with your sliders to find what works for you, use these as a starting point and go from there.

Take Armor's advice, That is what I did, and I found a set that works perfectly for me. My sliders aren't much different from Armor's, but enough tweaks that I thought should be made to play a bit differently, and to which I prefer.

Armor's base set is a great primer to build off of, and not much needs adjusting. Also, at CPU QB accuracy 10, I found QBs like Aaron Rodgers make intermediate to deep throws rather often, while also handing it off to his power back Lacey. It was a nice mix. Like Armor said, every game seems to play differently, especially for CPU QBs. This can be dictated on how well their rushing attack is working, if they are actually completing passes, and if those passes are of the short variety, or intermediate and sometimes long bombs. 10 CPU QB accuracy is a good balance I've found so far.

One thing is for sure, if you go too high on CPU QB accuracy, you'll see the lower-tiered QBs do better than they should against good secondaries, and also see very few errant throws from them. With the above average to elite QBs, you'll see an errant throw here and there, but very rarely, which is appropriate in my opinion.
