Re: TNK ALL-PRO SLIDERS (Based of Armor & Swords)

Isn't WR Catching too high?

I feel like this game even at 50, has the WR making too many catches in traffic, they also hold on to balls after being hit immediately following contact, and WRs never drop balls when they sense pressure.

All these things happen in real life, and raising it WR Catch to 75 will make these things never happen I believe.
Are you guys experiencing incompletes on drops (rather than inaccurate passes)?

I like catching between 40-45 personally, for the exact reason you mention. The good WR's still can make those tough catches but it makes you think twice before throwing into those curl routes because the CB can break it up regularly.

Re: TNK ALL-PRO SLIDERS (Based of Armor & Swords)

In my second game with these I threw 3 INT in the first quarter and Reggie Bush ran for 3 TD's. I have to make my passing easier but I can deal with defense being extremely tough. I'm having real trouble this year with finding a set. When I fix something, another thing goes terribly wrong. I've restarted my career 5 times now and usually I have a season completed by now

Ok, just finished my second game with these sliders.

This was a good, fun game. More competitive overall than the Cowboys game, but I've noticed a few minor things so far with this slider set, or more likely, with the game that the sliders can't overcome. Here are my observations:

  • Human rushing has been way too easy. Gore is getting 5+ypc, nearly every carry, and finished with 183 yards on 34 carries. Matt Forte on the Bears earned 65 yards on 15 carries
  • CPU QBs are super accurate. Cutler went 21 for 24 for 185 yards and a TD, no INTs. Although to be fair, I think this may have to do with CPU QBs throwing LOTS and LOTS of dinky passes; 5-10 yarders every other play.
  • Penalties are non-existent. This is just a bone-headed EA flaw I know, but I literally didn't get a single penalty all game for either team.
  • Human Sacks are way too high. I recorded SIX against the Bears, five against the Cowboys. I'm thinking a lot of this has to do with the CPU QB NOT ever throwing the ball away when under serious pressure, which also ties into the inflated accuracy stats for CPU QBs.

Overall, I'm having a lot of fun. And I know that most of those (like the asinine penalty situation) is just EA's ineptitude, but wondering if anything more can be done?
And I'll wait and see how my next game (@ Arizona) shakes out before seriously considering changing anything.

TNK - NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS FRANCHISE

Week #2 - New England Patriots (1-0) @ Minnesota Vikings (0-1)

The Patriots made it 3-0 on a 40 yard FG by Gostkowski on the games opening drive. Minnesota struggled to move the ball offensively and the Patriots offense looked sharp as Tom Brady would throw for 82 yards in the 1st quarter including an 18 yard TD pass to Rob Gronkowski to give New England a 10-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. The Vikings picked up a couple 1st downs on their 1st possession of the 2nd quarter and reached midfield before Rob Ninkovich sacked Matt Cassel to stop whatever momentum the Minnesota offense was building and the Vikings had to punt. The Patriots started the ensuing drive at their own 20 and on the 1st play from scrimmage Tom Brady hit Julian Edleman on a quick slant and Edelman made a great juke to break free, race down the sideline and leap for the end zone as a defender was closing in for a 80 yard TD pass to increase the new England lead to 17-0. Minnesota put together a pretty good drive on their next possession as they pounded the ball with Adrian Peterson but the drive would stall at the New England 40 yard line forcing another punt that went out of bounds at the New England 9 yard line with 8:36 left in the first half. The Patriots offense continued to click as they marched 91 yards with ease on the ensuing drive using a good mix of run & pass plays and Brady hit Tim Wright for his 3rd TD pass of the game to make it 24-0 with 2:57 remaining in an absolutely dominant 1st half by the Patriots. Tom Brady finally made a mistake and the Vikings finally got on the board when Chad Greenway made a great play to cut in front of a pass intended for Edelman and took it 24 yards on the interception for a TD to cut the Patriots lead to 24-7 with 0:58 left in the first half. The first half would come to a close with the Patriots in command and leading 24-7.

The Vikings would receive to start the 2nd half trailing 24-7 and had a chance to cut the lead to 10 points with a TD and get back in to the game but their drive would stall at midfield when Adrian Peterson was stuffed short of the chains on 3rd & 2 forcing Minnesota to punt. The Patriots offense went right back to work and Brady would cap off the drive by hitting Gronkowski in the corner of the end zone for a 15 yard TD strike to blow the game open at 31-7 on Brady's 4 TD pass of the game. The 3rd quarter would come to an end with the Patriots leading 31-7 and in total command of the game. The Vikings offense was across midfield early in the 4th quarter and looking to finally break through and put points on the board when Matt Cassel got flushed from the pocket and took off on a scramble and picked up the 1st down but he was hit by Revis and the ball popped out and was recovered by the Patriots for a turnover as the boos rained down from the Vikings fans. Tom Brady threw his 5th TD of the game late in the 4th quarter as the Patriots win in a rout 38-7.

GAME NOTES
* The Patriots improve to 2-0 on the season and make a statement to the league after they struggled offensively in week 1 as they crush the Vikings by a score of 38-7 and rack up 469 yards of total offense.

* The Patriots defense has looked outstanding so far this season through two games. Minnesota's only points in this game came from the defense on an interception return for a TD. The Vikings offense never even got in to the red zone and was held to just 1 for 13 on 3rd down conversions in a dominant performance by the New England defense

* Tom Brady was tremendous in this game as he spread the ball around to 8 different receivers and carved up the Minnesota defense. Brady finished the day completing 27 of 43 attempts for 304 yards and 5 TD with 1 INT.

* Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley shared the load in the Patriots backfield and combined for 142 rushing yards

* Adrian Peterson was the lone bright spot for the Vikings as he managed 117 yards rushing on 20 carries in the losing effort.

* Matt Cassel had an awful game for Minnesota as he struggled from start to finish and missed several open receivers with poorly thrown balls. Cassel finished with a lousy 46.0 QB Rating and was 16 of 31 for 107 yards with 0 TD and 1 INT

* Julian Edelman had a big game for New England catching 8 balls for 127 yards and 2 TD including a 80 yard TD reception in the 2nd quarter while the score was still somewhat close. Rob Gronkowski had 5 catches for 77 yards and 2 TD while Danny Amendola also caught 5 balls for 73 yards.

* The (2-0) Patriots will play their home opener next week as they welcome the (1-1) Oakland Raiders to Gillette Stadium. The Patriots will then start playing the tougher parts of their schedule after facing 3 somewhat lesser opponents to begin the season but they must get past the Raiders first before the real challenge begins.

I'm still tweaking......I just made some adjustments after my last game

Increase HOLDING penalty to 68
Increase facemask to 53
Increase offsides and false start to 55

Decrease HUM Pass Block to 60
Decrease HUM Run Block to 55
Decrease HUM Pas Defense Reaction to 41
Decrease HUM Pass Coverage to 41

Increase CPU Pass Block to 77
Increase CPU Run Block to 66

I will update post #1 of the thread to reflect these cahnges
