Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

I played the Texans last night using KC. I lost the game 9-7 as neither team could get a passing game going. Key stats:

KC (me)
Alex Smith: 13/33 - 221 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs
Jamaal Charles: 15-53 yards. 0 TDs
Defense: 2 sacks

Houston (CPU)
Hoyer (got hurt mid-game): 8/14 - 84 yards, 0/0
Mallett: 19/34 - 179 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs
Foster: 19-91 (he also had a long TD called back by a holding call)
Grimes: 10-42
Defense: 3 sacks

Mallett looked as erratic as he does in real life which was pretty cool. For me, I reigned in my gunslingng ways a bit, but the Houston defense was just all over my WRs.

-----------------
Played next against Denver....lost 38-24 (was down 38-17 when I scored a garbage-time TD).

Manning completed 68% of his passes for 258 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT. Cool thing was that his leading receiver was Demaryius Thomas (9 catches for 84 yards). Anderson went 22 for 88 and Ball went 9-68 (with a 50 yard TD run on a beautiful trap).

I did better with Smith this game, completing 63% (but 4 more picks did not help matters...you just cannot force the ball with this setup..lol).

Now, both games were played using the OP set with the 50 CFM holding option, the 60/80 autosubs, and testing 50/53 DPI (which I loved). I need to play a couple more, but I REALLY like the 50/53 DPI. It's open enough that QBs are not throwing to the TEs all the time, but it's tight enough that a)DBs will make plays on the ball and b) Robo QB doesn't kick-in.

If anyone gives 50/53 DPI a shot, let me know how it goes.

No joke about forcing the ball lol. I did a test game with my 2nd year Chargers team (I've played 2 and simmed 5) and the are currently 7-0. I have a really well rounded D and a pretty dominating O. Anyways I was using Kings set up till this point (which is quite good) and of course wanted to give yours a go because I'm a constant tinkerer lol. Man oh man was it tough. I was playing the Bucs who are pretty terrible and they were killing me all over the field. Winston was lights out and their HB's (R. Jennings and Simms III) were whipping my D all over the field. My O couldn't get anything going and when I did force a throw I paid every time lol. I only got 3 qtrs in but I was down by 10. I think it was 27-17. This was with the all default subs (60/80) set.

So I didn't really see any glaring things off about these at all. I was angry because I was getting handled but that's natural lol. I did notice more oline subbing then the other set. At one point I got sacked 3 straight times because my LT wasn't in and the backup was garbage. Their DBs seemed to handle my WRs much better then mine could which I don't agree with but I'm biased. I do have (K. Allen, S. Johnson, and Josh Gordon). As was said Winston on fire and was 20-24 at the time I stopped but a lot of those throws were underneath. My pass rush wasn't really there. All in all these provide a great challange no doubt and there aren't really any WTF moments. Good job JC.

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Game 2 on AP 60/80/60 12 minute no accel.
Lost to the Bengals 38-31.
QB
Dalton 24/34 426 yd 2 TD 1 RU TD
Rivers 40/51 418 yd 4 TD 1 INT

RUSHING
Hill 25/94 2 TD
Burkhead 7/18
Dalton 1/1 TD

Woodhead 12/10
Oliver 6/22 1 FMBL (recovered)
Gordon 3/5
Rivers 2/14 1 FMBL (recovered)

RECEIVING
Sanu 8/174 1 TD
Eifert 7/88
Green 5/59
Jones 3/95 1 TD

Allen 9/79 1 TD
Woodhead 7/7
Johnson 7/86
Gates 6/82 2 TD
Floyd 4/42
Inman 3/83 1 TD

SD 0 sacks CIN 3 sacks
3rd Down Conv SD 13/18 CIN 7/11
Penalties SD 3/20 CIN 2/15
TOP SD 30:01 CIN 17:59 (they were quick hitters, deep ball TDs to start drives)
Total number of plays SD 75 CIN 67

Once again rushing for me was horrible, I could barely break the line of scrimmage. Im forced to use a running back by committee because Woodhead Oliver Gordon aren't stand outs, but I'd figure someone would at least stand out.
Had to air it out and Philip Rivers showed he was king of that, over 50 passing attempts.
Bengals were quick scorers too, on 2 of their scoring drives it occurred within a minute of the drive, one a 60 yd to Jones another a 40 yd to Sanu.
Game was 31-31 under 2 minutes but Cincy was able to punch it in with Jeremy Hill.
Overall another good feeling game, defense was a bit shaky to start (I kept switching and having switch assist off takes getting used too, ended up just sticking with one guy before the snap) and for the life of me I can't rush the ball. I'm not using speed burst, hitting R1 to skinny between the tackles, using L2 modifier to cut, nothing is working.

Auto subs 60/80 in mm and CFM. Acel clock off. I think Acel off is really changing the way the game plays in a positive manner. Curious what type of gameplay i will see with all default and Acel clock off.
60/80 and 50/50

Yes they were on those defaults.

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

One thing that may need looked at is the INTs, as these last few stats posted reminded me. I led the league in my full completed Bears season #1 in INTs with 38 (2nd place was 23), while being 32nd in defensive passing yards (not worried about the yards though, halfway through the season I changed my defensive gameplan and tightened things up a bit more.)

FYI...those settings are very much apples to oranges to what I am using....the only reason the CFM autosubs default to 50/50 is because the sliders are in the opposite orientation from the main menu. For best effect, I recommend (as I did in the OP) to manually set the CFM autosubs to 60 Out/80 In.

That is correct Josh they are apples to oranges. I only mentioned that because I tried it with coaching only and it turned out really well. I have been using your sliders for a while now and they are by far the best I have tried. The only difference I saw with leaving the cfm subs at 50 was that I didn't get a bunch of OL subs like I did at 60/80. Every other position was subbing really well. It seems like the last patch they did really fixed a lot of issues.

I just played a game against the Chiefs using these exact settings except with 10 min qtrs...ending up losing 24-17 but it was definitely top 5 most enjoyable game i've played to date.

Pittsburgh:
Big Ben - 28-45 362 yds 62%comp 0td 6int

L. Bell - 17/41 yds, 2.4ypc 0 td
D.Williams 3/10 yds, 3.3ypc, 0 td
Will Johnson - 2/3 yds, 1.5 ypc, 1 td
Big Ben - 1/1, 1.0ypc, 0 td

Defense 5.5 Sacks
23:04 TOP

KC:
A. Smith 17/26, 212 yds, 65%comp, 2 td, 2 int
D. Colquitt - 1/1, 12 yds, 100%comp, 0td, 0int

J. Charles - 21/32 yds, 1.5ypc, 0 td
A. Smith - 2/14 yds, 7.0ypc, 0td
C. West - 2/7 yds, 3.5ypc, 0 td

Defense 3 sacks
16:56 TOP

AB was out so it really made passing more difficult...50/53 really makes it harder to find the open man, and if you aren't on your ****, the D will make you pay as evidenced by my 6 interceptions. And not one of those felt cheap...I tried to force almost every one except for a hail mary at the end of the second.

Running game was hell for both teams, but I will accept it because the chiefs do have a pretty bad *** front 7, and I was going to make Smith beat me by putting 7 in the Box on almost every 1st and 2nd down.

Smith played exactly like captain checkdown with the majority of his completions going to backs and TE's but was able to put together a couple of decent drives.

Only issue that I had (which will become a huge problem if I have more close games like this one) was with the subs.... with a little over a minute left, I hit 5 straight completions to get the ball all the way down to their 20, but I noticed that My top HB, WR, TE and LG were all subbed out at this point, so after the 5th completion I called a timeout thinking I would get them back....wrong, ended up trying to force a throw to my backup TE on the next play when no one could get separation, and threw my 6th pick. I will watch for it more closely, but not having my starting battery at crucial points of the game is a non starter for me.
