Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Woohoo!! Finally beat Panthers 26-10 at home to go 4-1. Roberts my gronk TE had big game with 3 big TD catches. Thomas again with 100+ rush, but not easy. Huge hit on Cam made him fumble in 1st that help me keep lead going. My D playing elite. Held Panthers to 206 total offense, and only 21 rushing. Big win. Next up, Eagles.

Glad the tips helped...

However:

When you get used to your starters timing and accuracy, using the backup can be a frustrating experience, indeed...

I'm playing as TEN and over the past handful of seasons, I've had to use Mettenberger and Thad Lewis on occasion and my career 100.0+ passer rating (with Mariota) quickly turns into a 60.0+ affair...

As it should be!

#ratingsmatter

Good luck and enjoy the learning curve...

If you become proficient with Tolzien, passing w / Rodgers will be easy-peasy...

And I love that ratings matter....

What I also love is that when a backup QB comes in, I am forced almost immediately to change my style and play calling and become a lot more conservative (in most cases).

And then there are teams like the Jaguars where all the qbs are about the same. I finally made the jump and got this game. Only got through a half before I had to leave, but it's very apparent I need to go back and read those tips

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Im in year 3 , lost Ryan several times on and off 1st two seasons, and having a solid backup makes a difference. Renfree was decent, have RG3 this year, decent. Remember the game where I forgot I didnt have 3 qbs on roster, ryan was already out, renfree was playing, got hurt in game, and I had to put my punter Bosher in at qb, absolutely ugly, had to just run ball. Lessons learned, all qbs are not the same, and you cannot just put anyone at qb and be successful, and make sure you have 3 qbs on roster, haha.

And that's what I had to do lol. Played the Chiefs and with Tolzien the starter until Rodgers comes back (3 weeks) decided to change the approach and throw lots of quick slants, curls and screens. The result paid off as I won 24-22 (although 14 points came from two pick sixes) but still was a pretty good game

Using a backup QB sucks. But playing against one is great. I'm up 10-3 against the Pats at halftime.
