It makes the CPU controlled-players more potent. Think of it this way, 0 fatigue is like having fatigue off. So, if you don't fatigue, then you can run hard, try to break tackles, etc. Now, by setting this in the Main Menu only, we still get the fatigue loss in the franchise, but they run harder and are more aggressive (particularly on offense). It basically helps balance-out the offense/defense.
I am trying MM Fat 0 in my game #2 against Dolphins.

I don't understand...isn't this all backwards?
Yup...it sure is...

What I did was I looked at a variety of teams, playing matchups and then repeating those same matchups varying only the scheme they ran. I then compared/contrasted playcalling tendencies.

The schemes proposed on the OP are my personal preferences based on my observations. The one thing I will say with a lot of assurance is that the balanced scheme is a nightmare...very little variety in the playcalling.

As with anything, test it yourself, make your own observations and make your own judgments on what works for you.

Three things:
  1. Downloaded rosters (last year) did not translate traits well (penalties, pass rush moves, etc.) when imported into franchise. I've only done very limited testing, but this may or may not still be an issue (I can say that the 1993 roster for PS4 seems to play fine in limited play time).
  2. EA roster updates are over-done...they crunch all of the player overalls even tighter together, meaning even less differentiation than when the game launched. A Tyreek Hill went from a mid-60s to a mid-80s overall; Dak went from a 70 to a low-80s. How many guys who are still actually on a roster dropped from a mid-80s to a mid-60s? Guys move up substantially, few actually drop.
  3. This is one that is more of a pet peeve. Say I have a rookie...he is a 70 overall when the game drops. During the season, EA bumps him up to a 77 (decent amount). You start year 1 with him at a 77 and gain the same 7 points overall during your franchise and he becomes an 84. So, go into season 2 and you have that second-year player who is borderline pro-bowler. Now....do that across the league....it makes the league more top-heavy with super young players due to the "double overall" gains (one from EA roster updates, one from your in-franchise progression).

Sometimes I think we fall victim to our own desires in that we want real NFL rosters but when things don't work out like real life it frustrates us. I'm starting to feel generic names would lessen the expectations of many and you could just enjoy the game for what it is. Games are an escape from reality, it just so happens Madden at time is a "real" escape from it.

Okay I restarted my Falcons Coach CFM with real rosters, downloaded on xbox- updated17. exact OP settings with 50 fatigue, controlling Quinn.

I went through every weeks schedule and simmed correct winners and losers each week, why there is not option to force ties?? Anyways, simmed all the way to divisional round, same matchups as in real-life. Here is my game against Seahawks:

Tough and fun game, opened up more in 2nd half. Got Cowboys next in NFC CHAMPIONSHIP. Chiefs vs Patriots in AFC.

Oh yeah, dig the stats.

I too love the feel on the 50 fatigue setup...just, I'd be happier if I would get my butt handed to me in a game or two (just to know it is possible)....I know it can happen on the 0 fatigue setup, but something feels a bit 'hyper' or something to me.

I haven't found a 'hook' yet to get me excited about a franchise....so maybe I will just keep farting around with different combos...

Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

Ive tried the 0 fatigue in MM, with 55 fatigue in CFM. I have been having really good games, good mix of dropped passes, completion percentages in the mid 60s.

When i used 55 fatigue in MM as well as CFM, computer did ok running but QBs were completing high 70s on passes.
