Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

Just played a game with OP setup but changed the difficulty to AM in CFM (my run game is a little to strong on AP) and I liked the results. I played Carson Palmer and saw a variety of off target throws and some great passes as well. The CPU D played the run a little better too.... small sample size but worth another game or two to see the results.

Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

My recent game with Seattle, was extremely surprised to win after losing to Philly and Jacksonville at home to start the season. I tried my best to keep the ball away from Seattle and got fortunate enough to force 3 Russell Wilson picks, one of which was a pick 6 from Gerald Hodges. My running game continues to **** the bed and with Hyde being a free agent after the season he won't be back, can't stand having a HB that can't break a long TD and his 88 speed shows when he is actually able to get to the second level. Anyways, not a bad game for sure...

Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

A very small sample size playing with current rosters.

Rodgers, 75% and 5 TD's passes, Bortles 50% with 3 TD passes. Both QB's had 1 int. Bortles had a few throws OUB because of pressure from the blitz. The other throws were pass break ups with one or two underthrows.

The Packers had 91 yds rushing with 3 different backs and the Jags had 40 yds rushing. I noticed the second half of the game was much better for the Packers to run a lot and control the clock vs the second half. Montgomery had less than 10 yds rushing in the 1st half and 70 yds in the second half.

The only "comeback" I noticed with the CPU was at the end of the first half. The Jags tied it up with 51 seconds left before the half and in 4 pass plays, me(the Packers) added 7 more and got the ball back at half.

The defensive line substituted well and Lacy came in for a few plays.

Penalties, there were 3 called the entire game.

If penalties and substituting the RB in and out are the only minor issues I have, this set is the golden standard.

If I want NFL football like stats for everything in a video game, I'll rewind the Packers season and watch it play out again.

Roadman--Assuming you've played with the preseason rosters as well, do you notice any difference between those and the updated rosters? Relative to gameplay?

I played with the updated rosters.

I think Tdawg has played with both and he doesn't notice a difference, but I'll let him chime in case my memory is out of whack.

Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

Have you ever thought about turning up speed threshold and seeing if that effects anything? The biggest problem I have is when the AI plays press on a go/streak route and gets beat deep by my WR. This wouldn't happen as much if the threshold was edited, but I know that messes everything up. I would love to try turning it up to 75-90.

I'm just curious since that would really clean up some of the gameplay, but who knows lol

Here's your answer from Josh himself from post #2561, as this topic has already played out.

So...I decided to isolate threshold without making other changes...trying to tease-out what it does and does not do. It's a mixed bag...results from OP with 100 thresh in MM/CFM. But, it did play a bit better than I had expected.

The good: DB agility is much improved due to better footplanting but it's almost too precise. A wee bit more of a true push by the d-line at times...but not consistent (which is unfortunate...if it had been, I might've looked at it further). Coverage distance wasn't bad overall...a little looser than I'd expect.

The bad: defender reactions (i.e. accel) were really nerfed. I even saw occasions where a DT would not even start to get out of his stance until the O-line had taken a couple of steps. Saw some jogging in coverage as well and defenders were taking longer than normal to react to things.

So basically...you're trading away accel for agility (essentially the opposite of 0 thresh which is all about the accel). As king said to me last night via PM on another Madden-related topic, "Pick your poison". You can make it work with other adjustments...but an ultra-high thresh isn't a road I will likely go down at this juncture.

Good stuff! Always enjoy trying out different things.

Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

Played another game, finally lost again which was nice to see. I worry that my running game is prone to 1-2 big gains per game which is inflating my numbers at times and scores but I'm extremely hesitant to tweak anything for fear it will mess up other areas of the game. Having said that Carlos Hyde has been terrible all season minus this week so what do I know.
