Me as well, I especially like it when im on offense, but when im on defense and cpu qb just sitting like a rock, potential for sacks being inflated. hope not.

On a side note, I am going to restart cfm with falcons, force sim every game for year 1 as in real life, even superbowl, and then start at off season. wipe slate clean 1st, then set everything up as OP.

If you're using the final roster, you might also set all the xp sliders to zero during that year 1 sim so players don't 'double progress'.

Josh, what tweaks are you considering. I'd like to test them out too

Barring something truly earth-shattering happening, this will be the last patch I install for M17. I am going to be disabling auto-updates and moving ahead with this patch. I didn't do this last year and a late online-centric patch really jacked things. I feel like EA did a terrific job adding back-in some sim elements that were badly needed....I refuse to lose them.

What this means is that this will be the last patch that I will be doing slider adjustments for (again, barring the introduction of a much better patch...which this late in the cycle, I doubt will happen). I know many of you play both online/offline, but I am strictly an offline player and at some stage, I have to look out for my own desires too.

So, consider this to be fair warning!
I am not remembering, but I can I do this on my PS4? Where in settings can I disable the automatic updates option.

I will do the same, because the MUT/online 12 year old kids are going to be crying a river and force another update LOL.

Using a PS4, is it possible to turn auto updates off specifically for Madden? Or is it all or nothing? Meaning turning it off will not allow you to receive system updates or updates for other games. When you turn auto updates off, is the system still able to connect to the internet?

Not sure of the logistics....I need to do it myself....I can post some details once I do it.

Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

Here's the story with auto updates (at least for PS4).
  • Go to Settings
  • Go to System
  • Go to Automatic Downloads
  • Toggle the 'Application Update Files' to "off"
You're still connected to the internet, and you can manually download updates for other games.

Re: JoshC1977's M17 Sliders

I for one do not know how to stop updates on Xbox one without going offline ultimately. If someone out there could run me through it quick like. 🙏

Thanks for all the work JoshC! And for this suggestion to halt updates after this one...
