QB traits do matter more than we think. Yes, higher awarness qbs will make better decisions, still within their traits though.

For qbs that have the "sense pressure" trait set to oblivious, they won't really react to pressure.
ie. J. Winston, Big Ben, Cam.

Also what compounds the sack taking issue, if the cpu qb traits are set to Pocket and Aggressive.
With all 3, They will be oblivious to Pressue, rarley/never leave the pocket, and will aggressively look downfield to pass. This all adds up to sacks!
Also if throw ball away is set to NO, they will rarely throw it out of bounds. So not only do they hold the ball too long at times, they will also not throw it away and instead take sacks more often. The upside to this is the qbs will take more shots and look to get that splash play.

Now, the reason qbs like T. Taylor throw on the run more and avoid sacks better, is b/c his traits are on the opposite end.
Scrambling & paranoid.

If we really want the CPU qbs to play smarter in the pocket, set qb traits to,
Sense pressure: ideal
Force passes: ideal
Throw ball away: Yes

If they are athletic/mobile, set to scrambling ie. RG3, T. Taylor, Kap. They will leave the pocket more often and TOR.

Now getting the qbs to actually scramble upfield is a tough one b/c EA took away a very important trait which was apart of the scrambling mechanism in Maddens past.

It's the Tuck & Run trait, EA removed it and it was crucial in how often the cpu qbs actually took off out of the pocket.
Essentially, now the cpu qb ai logic is all the same for every qb. They won't look to tuck & run, unless its the only option and they are close to the los, so you'll see them move left and right, while scanning downfield, but rarley take off.
Why did EA remove a trait option that wasn't broken to begin with, is beyond me.
So unless EA brings back the Tuck & Run trait, we have no choice in how often they scramble/tuck & run.

So, for my next game vs Cowboys and Dak.
I bumped Dak from 79 awr to 80.
I gave him ideal on both traits and throw ball away yes.

Also to get some kind of qb running, he will be using the Panthers PB and I also set the scheme to mobile, instead of the default scheme for them was pocket.

I will report back in a few!

As a personal experience that is what I'm seeing. But then it could have been just luck.

I'm back to normal though. I don't like the ball physics on slow. It just too slow for my taste. Tackling momentum also feels perfect for me on normal.
Mas a house rule I just avoid stretch plays. Since they have a higher chances of success than any other run play.

The more default I play the game the better it plays. I left penalties on default as well while I would like more penalties it play is just great and I m afraid with messing with anything now.

I got Tyrod to take off against me 3 times and you saw McCown take off for like 20 yards on one play. Both have 80+ AWR, Both are trigger happy and Tyrod is scrambling. Neither is ideal for sense pressure or force passes and neither took more than 2 sacks. Also Tyrod is conservative which I believe helps because he doesn't force the ball. Rather he keeps looking and eventually takes off sometimes.

Mine also shows 1.01
Hmm, it plays really good too!
I got my Punt blocked on my 1st Punt of the game!
Dallas's, S. Lee recovers it and runs it in for 6!

I proceed to have 3 more turnovers in the half, worst start of any game I've had this season.
Somehow my revamped Defense got us back in it, w/ a fumble recovery for 6! By my rookie MLB (superstar)
Down 21-14 @ the half

Dak has only taken 1 sack and 1 fumble.
He's 75% passing.
Stats coming in a few.
Both offenses have under 150yds
Yd per play was 3.8 user and 4cpu.
So both defenses are rolling.

Also S. Lee has 2ints, one was my bad for tapping the wrong button on a pass, and the ball floated on me.
One of Lee's ints went back for 6!
So 2 tds for Dallas, 1 by special teams and 1 by defense.

Normal speed was one of the few little changes, and didn't mention, I made to my gameplay lol. Unless it was brought up like now. But it really seems like ootb is taking off here. edit: and yes as close to default everything works best. Always played that way. Which is what bright me to D81SKINS scheme sliders last year.

Re: M17 Custom CPU PBs & Default All-Pro(DSkins81)

Probably the worst game I've played in a long time, we'll on the offensive side. I did change my teams PB, so that could be part of the issue.
I wanna replay this game, kept getting distracted.

I'm going back to my Offense
and Dak had 4 rushes for -17yds.

Final 33-16 Dallas wins @ home.
I'll just take the loss on the road and move on.
My Defense is coming together finally!
Now I just need to keep my offense steady.

I see dls get to rbs all the time in the nfl on those plays. Just my 2 cents on that. 50 feels right for fast. I ran 55 on normal and liked it.

Yeah bro, I was a little skeptical about going to all-madden. Charters sliders were off the charts good.(first time I used someone's sliders since playmakers many years ago 1 season) charter had a great base to work off of. Little tweaks towards skill level, and it played amazing. He put some serious quality game testing in. Players played to their ratings big time. And almost every person on you tube, used a variation of his sliders. I wouldn't know where to start tweaking on all-madden if it's different now.

Re: M17 Custom CPU PBs & Default All-Pro(DSkins81)

My team is 4-2 now
Not a good way to win on the road, 8 turnovers!
Well my previous game we won 41-7 vs Bucs(yr2 MIke Evans was out).
I also lost my starting FS to a shoulder tear(rookie that was gaining confidence each game).
Switching back to my default PB for now.
CPU played smart, Dak could've ran better but not when my D was reading it most of the game.
