Okay I tried a couple test games and I can get on board. I did see a lot of fumbles. Mostly from qbs but that seemed be to toned down. Both defenses definitely looked better

It might vary in play now. I only saw a couple of fumbles in my entire week 1 game. Give it an honest shot. I feel as though the sliders in this game don't do as much as global game speed and speed parity. The sliders seem to be more of an assist to global game speed and speed parity. On All pro, with everything at default (sliders at 50/50), it makes sense that true player/ team ratings matter. I do like having the QB accuracy slightly lower for both.

If you want a challenge, play with a garbage team. Or use your team or a team you like, but get rid of your superstars. Or if you really want to use a good team with the players on the team, you can lower specific player ratings on your team appropriately. There are options for you.

All pro, default (50/50), QB accuracy 47/47, fast global game speed and speed parity of 90 or higher (I like 90) is the way to go. No assists, except for defensive switch assist, and make your own house rules. That's the way to go! I always play with a defensive end on D, but that's because I always have. I do use Coach suggestions for play calling, though I have no problem diving deep into my playbook. It's good to mix it up. Use different formations and sets. Also, don't be afraid to change your scheme and/ or the playbook that you use before each game. That will keep it fresh. For instance, in my first game, I used a west coast offense for scheme and an attacking 4-3 for defense. I used Chip Kelly's playbook (SF) for offense and Jim Schwartz's playbook (PHI, Doug Pederson) for defense. I'll probably keep my defensive scheme the same for the entire season since those rarely change mid season, though I may vary the playbook. The offenseive side of the game is going to be a free for all. I can see a game where I switch to a spread and use New England's playbook, and a game where I use a power run with Kyle Shanahan's (ATL) playbook. Mix and match as well.

If you just do coaching suggestions every single time, you'll get the same handful of plays suggested to you. There's nothing wrong with that however.

Re: Flazko's True NFL Realism Sliders (Madden 17)

I resisted using Normal or in this case, Fast, for about 2 months. Sure, Slow gives you that smooth gameplay, but Flazko is right - it gives you wayyy too much time to react during gameplay, thus giving you an advantage and making the game "easy". Fast, while you sacrifice a bit with graphics and flow at times, gives you real time NFL game speed. It forces you to think and make decisions quicker. In actuality that's the true NFL sim experience.

One more thing. Understand your true player ratings. For instance, Latavius Murray is an absolute beast in Madden. He has an accel of 94, a top speed of 92, trucking in the 80's and elusiveness in the 70's. Even though his overal rating is only an 82, those four categories that I mentioned make him play like a back with a 90+ rating. In real life, Murray is struggling this year behind a line that cannot run block. He also seems to lack a bit of the explosiveness that he's had in previous years. If I wanted to make it more difficult to use him in Madden, I would reduce those four categories appropriately. Also, the Raiders have a sick line in Madden, and that's bc they are very good at pass blocking in real life (awareness, agility, impact blocking, pass blocking, run blocking and strength are all key ratings attributes for O-lineman in Madden). There's another set of ratings that have an impact on my run game. I'm going to leave it as is for my team, with the understanding that I'm more apt to have success bc of certain ratings and bc of my familiarity with the Raiders.

I am going to start a second CFM at some point with a weaker team.

Ok, I'm done selling this! Lol. Enjoy the game.

I tried a second game with the "Play Like Flazko" Set but on Fast Speed. I don't know if it's the reason but I really enjoyed the game against the Jaguars.

Bortles played like IRL with errant throws but what a game by my defense ! Despite the tough day for Woodhead, it was a really good game. Finally, I had realistic stats. I will continue too see how it goes (next game : vs Colts)

Re: Flazko's True NFL Realism Sliders (Madden 17)

My game must be broken. Tried play like flazkos set, started a CFM and was Jacksonville against Green Bay and was up 21-0 early in the 2nd. Way too easy to pas and run. CPU Offense was anemic per usual.

I tried adjusting the sliders(I adjusted in main menu and loaded in CFM). I lowered my run block to 40, my pass coverage to 45(so cpu could move ball), and jacked up cpu pass coverage and run blocking). This time the results were even worse. It's happened before where anytime I adjust the sliders the game does the opposite of what I wanted . I don't get why the game does this. I tried red set and it was too easy.

Any suggestions? Should I

1. lower all my user areas to really low, and leave cpu at default
2. Lower all my user areas to really low and higher cpu
3. Raise cpu to really high and leave user at default
4. Raise both

Thanks

Joe

Try deleting your profile if you haven't done that in a while. You used fast game speed? That set should at least be competitive if you're not a dominant team.

Re: Flazko's True NFL Realism Sliders (Madden 17)

Raider Ren - didn't want to quote both posts but yes I've been running with the new setup. 6-0 but the games against good teams feel like they should.

I was also interested in what you said about team construction. I played as Browns once with all madden sliders and went 16-0 in the second year so I gave that one up. But with the steelers I always trade Ben roethlisberger, William gay, Lawrence Timmons, mike Mitchell, Arthur moats, ect... Anyone close to 30 who is good enough to get a mid - high draft pick back. But then I trade those picks for rookies who aren't starting on their teams. I know a lot of house rules say don't trade for rookies, but it keeps year one interesting for me. My team is usually 79 overall to start but as you say, the overall ratings for players aren't always a true indication of what you see on the field in a game. Do you think my team is too dominant if I have, say, Karl Joseph, jaylon smith, and Leonard Floyd on defense combined with the young players on my team? Yes I know it's cheesy to trade for rookies that would never happen irl but it they're always rated lower, overall, than the players I traded away.
