I like what tdawg did, however I really thought the 80-84 range shouldn't haven been taken out of the analysis. For me, it is annoying to have too many 80+ overall players as free agents, because nobody can afford those contracts. I'm basically following the same path as tdawg, but with other goals in mind. We might reach the same conclussions, though. I just wanted to see for myself and share.

Basically his premise is: "I want to see at least X 90+ players". Mine is "I don't want to see more than Y 80+ players".

Oh true. I feel you on that.

That's a great point about the highly rated free agents.

If one of your starters goes down during the season and you don't have the depth, you should feel the pinch when looking at available free agents.

Thanks, looking forward to your results.

FYI I'm all for this by the way. If the set you eventually have is just slightly lower then mine I have no problem putting it on the OP as a slightly lowered down alternative. I'm 100% done simming (unless they tweak the xp sliders) this year but giving users options is what I'm all about.

Just want to say that I kept track of 80-84 on my sims, and every position for the most part lines up with the default rosters for 80-84 range with tdawgs last set. Some were a little off on some sims, but that can be chalked up as differences in weaker/stronger draft classes some years

But I do get it if you want to tune them to exactly what you personally want, I've been doing that all along while using tdawgs as a base. Basically just wanted to say this so people didn't read your post and think the 80+ was way off, when it's actually pretty close to being spot on

Re: TDawg's Madden 17 XP Sliders

Just a few tidbits that I've notice as I finally started playing my CFM's:

-As has already kind of been stated end of season awards give big boosts to younger players. Not so much so for veterans. Also it seems that being a Pro Bowler gives you more XP the individual awards which is sort of odd but oh well. In my Saints CFM my rookie WR made the Pro Bowl and won ORoY. He got something like 31,350 for making the Pro Bowl. Now I was testing something and changed his age to 20 (to see if XP cost less the lower the age went) and forgot to change it back so I'm sure that could have made it higher then it should have (he was originally 22). But he only got 9,032 for winning ORoY. In contrast, Brandon Cooks (24 in his 3rd year) made the Pro Bowl and only got I believe in the 9,000 range. But ya awards and pro bowls are very influential.

-I'm in year 3 of my Saints CFM and I haven't been able to make my team a juggernaut yet (not even close actually). I haven't made the playoffs and have finished 8-8 and 7-9 respectively.

-The only stud drafted guy I've had so far is the Rookie WR I told you about who is currently a 92 OVR starting his 2nd year. He was 80 OVR when drafted. Pretty big increase but it is what it is. Every other young player I have is still around the same of just slightly better.

-As said in the OP under my guidelines these XP Sliders are very much for the sim crowd. If you are a record breaker or a stats beast you will become overpowered as the human player. But if you are a sim player these things work as advertised and play exceptionally well.

Can you comment on the free agent pool talent three years in? Are you seeing lots of unsigned 80 plus players available?

Still early in my first year CFM.

Week 1 of Season 3 there are 0 80+ players in FA. Highest rated player is Mike Tolbert at 78 OVR. Also highest practice squad player is 2 73 OVR players (K and FS).
