Re: Coach Mode Sliders

Was going to post this last night but with PSN down I couldn't upload the video. Game was a little higher-scoring than what I've been seeing, but ones like this will happen, and one game is by no means a representative sample. And it would have been closer but for two Cousins fumbles in Redskins territory and Smallwood's two long runs (this is the only game in 17 played that had more than one long TD run so I'm OK with that as well- for now). It definitely played and felt like a closer game. Mathews ran hot-cold-hot, seeing his ypc dip below 4 before he brought it back up with a couple of late carries. Smallwood without his TD's would have been 9-34 (3.8). Both QB's took shots down the field, but not too many, and all were broken up. On Wentz's picks, one was a bad decision, the other was a good play by the DB

Hey Ryan, I dont think teabagging Kerrigan is a good idea.

Re: Coach Mode Sliders

CFM Week 15 - Eagles (me) @ Ravens

Flazko's latest (final) settings except human QBA -5 (30) to compensate for coach mode auto-pass. Also with IG and OPI off based on something read elsewhere. Could have been a win but for us getting TWO punts blocked, one for a TD and the other converted into one, and Tucker hitting 4 FG’s of 49+. Hopefully the 10 sacks for the Ratbirds was an anomaly and not a consequence of going from normal/75 to slow/90. This was my 18th game of M17 and I’ve had no other game where there were 10 sacks even for both teams combined.

Highlight reel includes:

-the blocked punts
-we roughed the kicker on a PAT
-Elvis Dumervil’s 100th career sack
-Moritz Boehringer’s first NFL TD (for Philly)
-and a play where HB Wendell Smallwood picks up C.J. Mosley’s blitz, but gets beat, then Mosley hits Wentz with his arm cocked back to throw, then Smallwood stumbles over Wentz trying to get to the fumble, which was recovered by Baltimore

QB pressure is the one instance in which I allow myself to break the "hands off" rule of coach mode; otherwise my QB would be taking a sack when a real QB would take off (or at least try to).
In M16, switching to an offensive player other than QB presnap allowed rushing QBs (Taylor, Newton, Luck etc) to rush on their own. Does that still work in M17?

Re: Coach Mode Sliders

It does. I never did it in M16 because I like to see all the action unfold. I'd like for them to take a look at NCAA 14 and allow us to lock onto anyone on offense and have the camera not switch when you do lock.

Re: Coach Mode Sliders

Manning you mentioned this; "Flazko's latest (final) settings except human QBA -5 (30) to compensate for coach mode auto-pass." Did you make any changes to the page 1 slider set?

I have been following this link and am looking for a Coach Mode slider set to try out. I have been a Coach Moder for years and prefer that method rather than controlling the players. I would rather it be the skill of the player on the field rather mine. Once I start my testing phase I will be sure to send some data and inputs if you need any information to help refine your set and compare statistics.

That was referencing the green set. I did later make some stat-based adjustments, but I've just started testing the purple set.

Re: Coach Mode Sliders

2016 regular season ended with a crazy and surprising 48-31 win over the Cowboys (who had already clinched the East) to finish as a 9-7 wild card. That game had the first 8-8 tie I’ve ever seen. Dallas was up 6-0 on pair of field goals when a punt that died at the 1 led to us recording a safety. The short field after the free kick yielded a touchdown drive but the PAT was blocked and taken to the house. Then we became the first team to lose a playoff game to the Lions since 1991, on a score in the final seconds, 29-28. After the latest patch and tuner update, I had noticed games played on Flazko’s green set getting higher-scoring, so....

Started the new (pre)season with a changeover to Flazko’s purple slider set (more challenging). If the human running numbers stay like they were first time out, there’s going to be some help needed there. That was the case with the original green set. AI backs just run dumber than controlled ones, I think. Other than that I think I’m going to prefer the purple set. For us 4 trips to the red zone resulted in 1 TD, 2 FG’s and an end zone pick. The Browns never really drove on us until their nail in the coffin possession. Johnson’s first quarter TD was set up by Riddick’s 39 yard run, Riddick might not have taken that kickoff to the house had Jones not somehow sneaked to the top of the KOS section of the depth chart (fixed that after), and the go-ahead TD was a 51 yard pass. Cleveland’s best drive (last TD) came after we turned the ball over on downs at their 49. In other words, despite the Browns scoring 29 points, scoring was still a chore for both teams.

Re: Coach Mode Sliders

Two great things about the game against the Cardinals (34-30 losers to the Pats in SB LI) - nobody scored until only 2:39 was left in the first half, and a touchdown wasn’t scored until deep into the third quarter. I love games where neither team reaches 20 points, and that would have occurred had Catanzaro not hit a 55-yarder. Human running game was much better, but couldn’t sustain drives. Two games into the purple, and I have yet to score 20 points. That gets the Tuco stamp of approval.
