But I certainly wont go about it by posting that the game is trash, that I quit and wont play again and try to figure out the most money I can get back from the game.
So we sit here and say the game is good when it isn't? Or pretend that it isn't terrible in it's current state when it is?

It is a great game tho. It has some issues, but OL/DL interaction, like many of them, is fine with the right sliders. Pursuit is wonky but not that bad. If Madden 17 is bad, what sports game is good?

I could sit here and make a long list of things wrong with this game..

OL/DL interaction is NOT fine. Not even close. Them removing the line moves is a great sign that EA makes horrific game dev decisions.

Pursuit is terrible. Significantly worse than it's ever been. Whether you like the game or not, please don't act like it isn't an issue. LB's and DB's allow themselves to be blocked and that's something that has never been an issue.

Pass coverages are decent but not to the realistic level that EA hypes it up to be. Also, I shouldn't necessarily have to have the "right" play called to cover a pass. Too frequently if I haven't made the exact correct changes before the snap, someone gets left open. I frequently see 3-4 defenders coving one receiver.

AI playcalling is beyond stupid. So tired of them going Cover 1 Press when I have a 3rd and 15.

The running back moves that everyone went crazy about are slow and sluggish. Very unrealistic and prevents you from having any really explosive and exciting runs.

AI QB's are sitting ducks. I said previously here or another thread where I played a PS2 Madden a few days ago and the CPU stepped up into the pocket, then scrambled to the right. As I switched to the CB and ran at the QB, he flipped the ball over my head to the WR.

There are so many problems within the game and alot of them weren't problems in the past. Everyone wants to just say "Oh well go adjust the sliders." That's a problem for two reasons: One, alot of the issues (pursuit being the main) aren't slider fixable. Two, why are WE essentially having to try and fix EA's mess? Madden 17 is FAR from a good football game. I don't understand anyone can possibly dispute that unless you are a very casual football fan that does not look for any bit of realism within the game.

My 32 man online CFM has had to up pass blocking to 60 because we are seeing the exact opposite. The pass rush up the gut has been incredible

This game is flawed in so many ways on both sides of the ball to the point that it's hard for anything good to happen. And when it does, it happened so unnaturally that really you didn't even do anything. The OL-DL interaction is something that people have wanted improved on for years and it is as bad as I can remember it ever being (largely in part bc EA got rid of the rip/swim mechanics for reasons we may never know). LB's literally just sit there and let blockers make contact with them and when they do, they are stuck to them like glue (oh except the CPU controlled defense which actually plays pretty well). I've seen plays where 3-4 DB's run to the same receiver for unknown reasons. AI QB's either complete passes, stand there and take a sack, or throw it away and it looks completely stupid (Played a game of Madden 2004 for kicks the other day. McNabb stepped up in the pocket, then scrambled to his right, I switched off to the DB to pursue and he flipped it right over my head. Beautiful.) These "All New Running Back Moves" that fans went berserk over for a couple of weeks are so slow and sluggish and are completely unrealistic. This list could go on and on...

But fans have bent over and accepted EA's "Take it or have nothing" mentality and for some reason look at this game like it's worth something special. Have seriously seen people on here saying "just play it and don't watch the replays bc you'll see everything that is wrong." Like what the hell is that? Why are we buying into this garbage? This was the first Madden I've bought since 2011 and I could not have been more disappointed. I'll keep preaching that if everyone takes one year off from buying Madden, we won't have these issues anymore.

My comment turned into a rant. Sorry for the blow up.
I just rechecked this thread now and was shocked at all the action it is getting. I am almost thinking of getting an xbox 360 and using KingJavo's APF 2K8 rosters. I do not remember if that game replicated a pocket better, although I believe that it did.

I went so far as to delete my digital copy of M 17 and all my saves and captures. I think the game is average at best. I get sick to think of what 2K would have give us by now .... makes me almost wanna tear up !!!!!!!!!!!! If there is any way to give away my digital copy, I would like too - LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like I will return to MLB 16: The Show, unless a patch can fix this crap. What has Clint been doing for four years ? The OL is AN ABOMINATION !!!!

Upping offside could increase the effectiveness of the DL, making them more aggressive and causing them to burst off the LOS. Meanwhile, dropping both holding and false start could decrease the effectiveness of the OL, seeing less suction blocking and sticky line play, and having them not fire off the LOS to manhandle the opposing DL.

Like I said, I haven't experimented yet myself, but keeping everything the same as you have it now, maybe try upping offside to 75 and dropping both holding and false start to 25. That may give the DL and pass rush an advantage.

See if that one tweak does anything at all. Of course, it would likely stifle the running game some, but it could also help with what you're noticing right now. Just a suggestion.
this is a good idea - however, we pay our money to play a good game - not JUMP THRU HOOPS FOR EA TO FIX THEIR ****TY PRODUCT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kudos

OL/DL interaction isn't that bad. The line moves are still there, you can do them with different combos of the button and left stick. Coverage is pretty good. New zone additions are nice. QB AI is definitely a problem but it's not that bad. You're talking about old games but think about all that we have now that old games didn't have.

You hit on some points, that I agree with. Really the only one i am fine with is line play. OL and DL interaction. But if you don't like it, we can't change your mind. I understand though, because some people might not agree with me on the other issues. #1 being, the AI is not... that good. Cpu qb and that cover 1 they just love.
